I am here is it worth it???

I thought this was a dicussion board where you could discuss all aspects of Disney, Ok if the mods want to remove my thread because it does not fit into what they want to hear about Disneyland Paris then fine please do,

I will write a full trip report when I return home but please feel free to move my posts or remove me from this board.

the mods will only be interested in removing posts mentioning nationalities as a problem. not your post in particular.
Quite right, everyone is perfectly entitled to write about their opinions and experiences at Disneyland Paris, whether they be good or bad ones.

However we will not tolerate any singling out of nationalities on this board. There are rude and ignorant people to be found from every country and unfortunately crowds will always bring out the worst in people.

Please could everyone take a moment to remind themselves of the DIS Guidelines here and our DLP Board Rule here.

Have to say every time we've been to DLRP we have been very impressed with how clean the park was, there were always CM walking around with brooms and dustpans.

We haven't had any bad experience with food either, at all the resturants we ate at the CM were fantastic and the food was lovely, yes it is on the expensive side, but hey its disney its going to be.

We have experienced the pushing and shoving by adults rather than children, trying to see a character in the park is pretty impossible at times due to the amount of people who just push and shove in front of little children, there is no queue control what so ever. We are going to WDW in February and this is one aspect we are really looking forward to being different.

going back to the original question - if you can get there early on 1st jan it will be fairly quiet as most people will have been up late the night before but the parks are expected to be full to capacity at this time of year so it will be very busy.

Whereabouts are you staying? you say you will be travelling from SouthWest France. Do you mean just to travel for the day? If so you will find it a long way and Im not sure it would be worth it.
If you are thinking of travelling up and seeing Paris and a day at DLP then yes it may be worth it

To the OP ~ I agree with the above. It's a long way (and expensive) to travel for just one day especially at such a busy time of year. If you're planning on combining it with a day or two in Paris, then yes, it would be worth it but for just a day at DLRP then my opinion would be no.

I would tend to agree - I think the park will be busy over the whole holiday season and it seems a long way to travel for the day !

Okay, I will be traveling from Angers. The train would arrive before the park opens and we could stay all day until about 8pm and come back. We leave France on the 8 of Jan, so I could go anyday but the 3 and 4 as we have plans. I really wanted to see the Christmas decorations but the last day is the 6th.....Like I said, i went there 5 yrs ago just to the Disney park not studio but would like to do both. Maybe the 5th would be better crowd wise-are kids in school then????? Thanks for everyone help......:surfweb:

I dont know about kids being back in school - but I recon 5th would be your best bet to still get to see xmas and have the least crowds. :)

Plus it's a monday - on of the quiestest days of the week. :)

As Torsie said, the 5th would be the best I reckon. Kids (well, UK kids anyway) are supposed to be at school but you never know lol. Sounds like you'll be able to spend the entire day at DLRP, so I'd say go for it :thumbsup2. Let us know what you decide to do in the end :)

I think the French schools are back then too ~ even if they're not, it should be much much quieter than the previous week.

waterm, I'd say go for it on Monday the 5th too :thumbsup2 hope you have a fantastic day, please let us know. :wizard:

At the airport on my way back from the worst ever visit to a Disney Park, I would not even bother to waste money on the train to visit DLP.

The impression you will have after visiting WDW will be shattered by DLP. The Park is dirty, If you want to fight with rude guests for Photographs of the characters who do not know what a queue is, Now these guests think nothing of pushing young children out of the way I am talking adults here not other children.

The queues for rides are just as bad, where people will barge you out the way just to get in the line,

The parades again are a nightmare with rude , arrogant people who will kick shove and do anything to get to the front,

The Cast members are totally apathetic about the whole Disney issue and will not attempt to prevent such behaviour,

There are pickpockets on the park which I found out to my cost...Again Disney not at all interested.

The food is expensive and cold when ordered the Cast members in the resturants don't interact at all with the customers.

DLP is not a true impression of Disney, The Magic of Disney is utterly lost on this money making attempt at a Disney Park.

I have to say I agree with every word that's been put into this post . I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and this post happens to match my opinion of DLP exactly. We had a terrible time at DLP when we went for 3 days several years ago and although we live in north London so day trips are extremely possible and we are complete Disney freaks we would never again waste our money on a trip to DLP (our opinion !)

THanks everyone for the input....I will decided later this week-weather pending...I have become a total Disney freak and plan to take my 2 kids to WDW in june for their free birthday days as they are only 3 days apart-what a surprise that will be !:goodvibes I will keep you all updated!!!!!:woohoo:

I hope you manage to see the decorations at DLP waterm :) - I'd agree, the 5th January would be your best bet to see it all with minimum queues.

I've just read all the posts on this thread, and I'm glad to see differing opinions. I also would like to know how a trip to WDW in Florida comes in at the same cost as a trip to DLRP :confused3 - can anyone get me a trip including all travel and accommodation costs to WDW for less than £250 for one adult, one child? Apart from that aspect, its horses for courses isn't it - I personally wouldn't be planning my 6th trip to DLRP in 2 years if I thought it was a waste of time or money.

The Magic is there in fairy wandloads for me and my DD :wizard: , but I'm sure experiences such as jks has posted would put me off too. Thankfully, I've not (with the exception of the character scrums, which you learn to either just deal with, or avoid completely) had any personal experience of them.

Nor us have our main summer holiday at DLP. Last year was an 11 night trip. This year a 14 night stay. Pure magic :woohoo:
