I am happy I bought a 30 point BLT contract.

I just made a reservation for two days in a one bedroom lake view at BLT next January, using my 2009 and 2010 BLT points. I did this with a 30 point BLT contract.

I also made a reservation at OKW for eight days, giving me a ten day vacation. At 7 months I will waitlist an additional BLT day or two, and if the waitlist comes through, great, I will replace a few of the OKW days.

Either way, I get to stay in the new resort and I'm only out $3360 (30 points x $112).

I really hope DVC reconsiders the 100 point minimum. The current economic mess makes dropping $10,700 (100 x $107) kind of hard for a lot of people to do.

How did you get a 30 point add on? When did you buy it?

I bought the 30 point contract in December of 2008. It was still possible, at that time, to buy contracts as small as 25 points.

I bought a 30 point contract so that I would be able to stay in a one bedroom lake view (my choice of views) in January, at least two nights every other year. A one bedroom LV at that time of year is 28 points per night.
