Hi there!!

Thought I 'd drop a quick post to say I am planning a trip to Toronto 25th October this year!!! Can't wait as I've always wanted to go to Canada!!

Can anyone give me ideas on best place to stay, the 3 options i have are Days Inn, Delta Chelsea and Bond Place??

Also looking for ideas on what to see and do.

TIA

Lesley

Welcome!

We'll have to get a meet together when you arrive.

Personally, I would stay at the Delta. Good Location for Downtown.

There is lots to see and do, depending on your interests.

You can check out www.toronto.com to start with!

I have family in Glasgow (Newton Mearns) and they have been coming to Canada to see us for about 10 years now and they love Toronto the most!:thumbsup2 I'm sure you'll love our country and in Toronto there are so many theatres, clubs and most of all tons of great shopping to be had!:)
Happy planning!:cheer2:

Hey guys thanks for your kind replies, but I mean honestly how many people in Canada have lifelines going back to Scotland, I mean who lived in Canada before scots came over (no seriously I am asking) I honestly (hand on heart) want to know. I love it for the following: Maple leafs, maple syrup, Michael J Fox, Mike Myers, Celine Dion, Blue Jays, Bears - real live ones! aawwhh,
mounties, the whole french-canadian thing(?) so desperate to see it.

any scoot cant wait

PS will it be cold November :cold:?

pps - absolutely no disrespect intended!

Well before my Mother and Grandmother....and other fellow Scotsmen came to Canada there were (and still is) relatives of my DH.....he is a full status Indian (Mohawk/Delaware)!::yes:: :teeth:

PS: It will be pretty chilly here in Nov.

I have a Clan card! LOL! I've been to Glasgow myself in 1999 - got off the train accidentally at Maryhill, 70 lbs backpack and all and I was walking down the street until a super nice guy walked me back to the station and put me back on the train explaining I was most certainly in the wrong spot.

I live in and work in downtown Toronto, I rarely leave or venture north of Bloor Street (too far north!) unless completely leaving town.

Although not on your list, but worth checking out for accomodations:
Royal York
King Edward
Old Mill Inn

Things to do and See:
CN Tower
Royal Ontario Museum
Art Gallery of Ontario
Hockey Hall of Fame
Distillery District
Bata Shoe Museum

Where to eat:
Sultan's Tent - Cafe Moroc is in the front, Sultan's Tent in the back...
Kit Kat Italian Bar & Grill
Canoe
Big Daddy’s Crab Shack & Oyster Bar
Milestone’s Grill & Bar (at Richmond and John Street)
Le Saint Tropez
The Red Tomato

November will be a bit chilly, yes.

Hope this helps!

Will you have transportation during your stay? If so, do try to see Niagara Falls. And given when you are going, I think that there is nothing like seeing the McMichael Collection in Kleinburg during the fall.
