I am going to FLIP MY LID if this ends up happening!!!

I'm a native WDWer, and I think you guys have tons of awesome things that we don't, so awesome, in fact, that I'm planning a second trip to DL soon.

Indiana Jones is amazing and makes the trip almost worth it in and of itself.

WOC is the best nighttime Disney show IMO.

Pirates and SM are much better at DL.

Nemo Subs are a very singular experience that you can't find anything close to at WDW anymore.

Trader Sam's at the DL Hotel.

California Screamin', I love Cedar Point and this gives me a bit of my roller coaster fix.

Matterhorn: was down for refurb during my first visit, but I hear it's amazing.

Disneyland also makes Dumbo fly...when I saw him I was like whoa, there is an elephant flying around the castle.

YES! As a newer mouse junkie (first visit Nov 2009 DLR, with 5 more DLR and 2 WDW under my belt and 2 more DLR and 3 WDW in the works) , but a junkie none-the-less, I love all the unique magic at DLR. When I go, especially after being at WDW, I cannot wait for the Matterhorn, seeing WoC, New Orleans Square and all the churros everywhere :thumbsup2

There is a lot of symmetry, which I also love. I like that WDW was Walt's dream of taking Disneyland to the next level. EE is the amped up Matterhorn, Killamanjaro Safaris is the Jungle Cruise that Walt orginally envisioned. But when you get back to the Land there is just more magic and it is wonderful!

Will I be upset if WDW gets anything Carsland? No way! Like a PP said though, RSR is already there in the Test Track.

Anything that keeps WDW'ers going to to WDW instead of DLR is totally awesome!

IMO, DLR is for the true blue Disney fans and all of us Best Coasters.

DHS despirately needs another main ride.

TSM is swamped everyday. If RSR is added to DHS then it will take some of the pressure off of TSM for the FP.

Not sure if the RSR will have the same height requirements in FL but even if they did it would still help quite a bit with FP not all going to TSM. Hopefully, they put RSR in another area away from TSM as you want to spread the guests out when they enter the park.

For those of you who haven't seen the early morning FP and enterance for TSM it is called the running of the bulls. It is seriously scary if you aren't near the front!

One thing to remember if WDW even does get it, it will be many years away. They are still working on Fantasyland and still have avartar-land to work on.

Right now its nothing more than a rumor that is many years away, no reason to be flipping out about it.

I don't think WDW will get a Cars Land. They just got the Cars wing at the Art of Animation Resort, which is essentially a mini Cars Land.

I wish Disney sold that wall art that they put in the rooms there, featuring stills from the movie. Some awesome framed pictures.

WDW has so much more??? If we're talking rides and park attractions then I'd have to disagree. With Carsland open DLR has almost 85% as many rides, shows and attractions in 2 parks that WDW has in 4. Where WDW gains is in resorts, restaurants, and outside park experiences such as fishing, water parks, boating etc.

I understand where you are coming from, I am all for WDW enjoying Cars Land, they can come here to enjoy it. LOL I mean, look if I am going to go to WDW I want there to be a land there that is unique to WDW only. Like AK & EPCOT are unique. But I think it would be better if they came up with their own ideas when it came to certain things, personally I think a pixar land for DHS would be WONDERFUL at WDW it would be unqiue and they could still do something about Cars if they wanted.

thats exactly what Im saying...I personally dont think that IJ is in anyways remiscent to Dinosaur...maybe the car and track???? KS is NOT like JC...and the poster who wrote about the FL rides?? i personally dont think you can even compare them to some of the other rides Ive mentioned and how many people stay the whole day in FL??? Maybe people who are there will little bbs... so I dont even include them in what I posted...

I get your point, but my problem is when WDW copies a DL attraction but makes a poor copy. POTC comes to mind.

If you think about it, getting a Cars Land at WDW would be GOOD for DLR. Look how many people that have never been to DLR, and are regulars at WDW, are traveling all the way across the country to go to CL. If they had their own, they would stay there and leave more room for us at DLR! :thumbsup2

what I have been hearing lately from people is that wdw vets are saying that same thing Ive highlighted but for gosh sakes, I have to go across country if I want the aforementioned rides, attractions, and restaurants...if I have to do it then what makes them so special not to have to???? (no offense to anyone that is a wdw vet)

No. . . Really Lynn . . . . How do you feel about this? :rotfl2:

:rotfl:im not feeling as riled up about this as i was...ive calmed down a bit which is why some of the "snootier" unecessary posts I have seen, Ive not commented on:lmao:

Im talking about everything! rides, shows, restaurants, the resorts, water parks...even DTD....and i totally dont agree with your 85% analogy...are you kidding me right now???what shows does DL have?? Aladdin, Billy Hill and the Hillbillies ( didnt forget about you Billy Hill fans:rotfl2:) and WOC come to mind as the only shows we have...wdw has Nemo, Little Mermaid, IJ stunt show, B&B, Lion King, Philharmagic (and dont even compare the muppets 3D), they took our Country Bears (grr), Lights, Motor, Action...really do i need to go on????? The restaurants?? come on!!...are you sure you are talking about wdw???..cause what you are saying is just downright not the case..

I'd LOVE if WDW put in a CL! I don't fly, and although WDW has a lot more, they could certainly use something less princessy! Share the wealth my friend, it's the happiest place on earth for a reason :)

I have never been to WDW, but all I can say is that when I finally do make it (that's the 2 year plan!!), I would like to see something "new". That is, something that is new to me. Not a replica/repeat of what I experience in DLR every year.

I liked another posters idea of a PixarLand, however, I would think us, here in CA, should get that, being that CA is the home state of John Lasseter.

From my reading of these posts, DHS needs something new, but it doesn't need to be CL, and if they have that ride, what is it called? Test Track or something like that, why even both with a similar ride like RSR? :confused3

Correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't the basic ride technology for RSR the same as Test Track? Of course RSR has been upgraded. So if that is true....technically we have something the same. That also holds true for the same ride technology as Indiana and Dinosaur. I would not be upset to see CL in WDW...but having test track...give us something different than RSR. But the question would be what?

Maybe instead of CL, WDW could get Monsters Inc. for years I have read rumors of a coaster that would be something like searching for boo through all the doors. Sorry for the very bland description. Or maybe Pixar land in general. An attraction based on the different movies.

I will agree that HS needs a shot in the arm. Love the park but it needs something new and quick. But I wonder how quick it will be. The fantasyland expansion is winding down and then avatar land will be built. My guess and just personal thoughts...as soon as they break ground for avatar they may announce something for HS

bottom line I love Disney and I'm happy with anything new they give us! I will be at Disneyland in 2 months and I think I'm more excited about the Glow with the Show Mickey Ears!

Sorry but I think this "us or them" rivalry attitude between west coast and east coast fans of DLR and WDW is silly. It's like a park version of sibling rivalry. And the funny thing is the parks don't have the rivalry, the park goers do. Silly IMO.

My home park because I'm an east coaster is WDW but in October i'm going BACK to DLR for the 2nd time. And NOT because of Cars Land, although i'm excited it's open. I'm simply a big fan of Disney style entertainment and I receive that amazing Disney magic fix at both locations. I would LOVE to see Cars land at WDW because many of my family members and friends can't aford to fly to California, (they DRIVE to WDW to save money) but they and their children would LOVE to experence Cars Land. I know i can't wait to see it! Why should they go without, because some people feel it's a competition between the parks and someone has to win?? The Disney company, and probably all Disney fans have a soft spot for DL because it's Walts park and that will never change, but like any good parent the Disney company loves ALL THEIR CHILDREN. As a Disney fan (Not just a WDW or DLR Fan, a DISNEY fan) I think we should support all Disney parks. If you need rivalry to feel better aim it at universal Studios! :cool2:

85% is correct if you compare the WDW's 4 parks to DLR's 2 not counting the water parks or Disney Quest. It's been discussed here many times with complete lists of both DLR and WDW. Disneyland park itself has quite a bit more than Magic Kingdom. Sure you can list some shows etc. that DLR doesn't have but theres quite a few attractions at DLR that WDW lacks. Disneyland packs a lot in their two parks!

(East Coaster's, I'm not bagging on you...:lmao:)

No offense taken, and that's exactly why we are going. Been to WDW a lot and we are going all the way across the country to see Cars Land and Disneyland to see what it's all about. We love Disney, but feel we just can't do another trip to Disney World any time soon. Can't keep spending the money in the same place. With the opening of Cars Land it's a perfect reason to go to Disneyland and SoCal. (Sorry if we'll be taking up your room! LOL)

In this case I kinda agree that RSR should remain exclusive to DLR because I feel every Disney park needs to have at least a few signature attractions to differentiate it from the other parks. If Disney is serious about having DCA stand on its own legs it needs to develop its own identity.

I really think this is the key issue right here, as far as why CL needs to stay in CA and not go to Florida. Plus you cannot do RSR justice without building the entirety of the bluffs--anything else would be a cheap knockoff.

I think the reason why so many DLR fans get so defensive is because we are constantly hearing negative remarks about DLR by WDW fans. I'm not trying to do the "they started it" thing, but it's pretty commonplace for WDW fans to openly bash DLR, sometimes without even realizing they're doing it. It's a generally-accepted assumption that "Disney" means WDW (as in "I'm going to Disney" means you're going to WDW) and that DLR is simply a smaller, old, outdated resort with half of the parks and almost none of the other extracurriculars. And that DL was simply Walt's warm-up for the resort he really wanted to build, which was WDW. Even when it's not mean-spirited, it's hard to constantly hear your home resort described as lesser-than.

and I am in total agreement with you here...although my favorite ride between both wdw and DL is RnRC:angel:....however, they dont need to steal CL from us...find something else unique that only you can get at wdw....my whole point to this post is that I want DL to keep DL stuff and not hand it over to wdw and vice versus....each park should having their own rides and not give the same one to another park...

ok...think what you want...doesnt change the fact that I feel the way i do....

thank you!!!!

Well I'm sorry you feel that way and as a WDW fan I'm sorry if you've been given good reason to feel that way from WDW fans comments, the media or for that fact any of MY comments, but of course if it's how you feel I have to respect that.

My wife and I are going to DL for 3 days during my California vacation at the end of the month and can't wait to visit Walt's park and see TCA for the 1st time. I fully expect it to be different from a WDW trip but I know it'll still be totally magical and I can't wait! :cool1:

Just had a funny though that I posted on a different thread kind of about the same subject. (DLR VS WDW) WDW has thousands upon thousands that attend everyday. (So does DL) Imagine if there were no WDW and all we Disney nuts came to DL? The parks would be full an hour after opening and would be forced to close the gates, and wait times at attractions would be crazy. I think DL fans should tell all their friends to go to WDW to shorten the lines at DL! I'm going to start telling all my friends DL is much better than WDW for the same reason! LOL ;-)
