Rumors have gone on as long as time has and I know not to always succumb to the fear but this one has me going...has anybody heard a rumor about wdw putting CL over there??? Im going off on a rant now....wdw has so much more than we do and although I love it there Im sick to death of having something and wdw ending up getting it...I want FOR ONCE to have something that STAYS in DL...I have to go clear to wdw if I want to ride Expedition Everest or the dinosaur ride or RnRC so if they want CL then they can bring their happy selves here!!!!...I WANT TO KEEP CARSLAND HERE...yes, I know im pitching a fit!!!!

The only thing I've heard is some talk that a watered down version of RSR is/was being considered for DHS. But they will probably never see anything like RSR's rockwork over there because, for one thing, in addition to serving as the backdrop to Cars Land it also doubles as a berm for DCA.

So what if Disney World and all of the visitors get to enjoy the same thing that the visitors get to enjoy at Disneyland? At-least we got something new. We all want to experience the magic of Disney and Cars is an important Disney movie (or company owned by Disney movie.)

I don't care if Disney World gets Cars Land and if the rumors are indeed true, congratulations visitors of Disney World! I'm kinda hoping that Disneyland gets Avatar-land eventually. Plus, if Disneyland gets a Marvel ride/land, we'll have exclusive rights to that for a while because from what I have read, Disney World cannot build anything regarding Marvel until Universal Studios gives up the rights on Marvel parks/rides. That does not apply to California, though.

Avatar has nothing to do with Disney. I will be pissed if they even consider putting it in DCA or DL. It needs to go someplace else. Like Universal Studios.

Avatar-land is in the works for Animal Kingdom in WDW. But following your logic, what about Star Wars or Indiana Jones?

I admit I loathe Avatar, but I also know that many people love it. I also know that if anyone could change my mind about something, it would be Disney.

I guess I missed seeing Mickey Mouse when I watched Indiana Jones (Disneyland ride) and I'm pretty sure Rod Serling wasn't a Disney employee when he was on the Twilight zone (DCA ride)! It wouldn't be hard to come up with more examples and I'm sure you don't boycott the mentioned rides. It is great that what they have is mostly Disney but in order to compete they need to evolve and include some other things. I would love to see more Disneyworld on the west coast......might save me a full day on an airplane flying to the east coast!

Why does this rile you up so much? I don't get it. First off, I disagree with your comment "wdw has so much more than we do."
  • Matterhorn
  • Indiana Jones
  • Mr Toad's Wild Ride
  • Pinocchio's Daring Journey
  • Snow White's Scary Adventures
  • Storybook Land Canal Boats
  • All of New Orleans Square
to name a few. There are more.

LOL Yes, you are pitching a fit. :goodvibes They are rides in a theme park. It's all okay. Really. It's not a big deal if someone 3,000 miles away can enjoy an attraction that we can enjoy at Disneyland.

cough - Star Tours - cough

:goodvibes

- Dreams

I understand where you are coming from, I am all for WDW enjoying Cars Land, they can come here to enjoy it. LOL I mean, look if I am going to go to WDW I want there to be a land there that is unique to WDW only. Like AK & EPCOT are unique. But I think it would be better if they came up with their own ideas when it came to certain things, personally I think a pixar land for DHS would be WONDERFUL at WDW it would be unqiue and they could still do something about Cars if they wanted.

I get your point, but my problem is when WDW copies a DL attraction but makes a poor copy. POTC comes to mind.

If you think about it, getting a Cars Land at WDW would be GOOD for DLR. Look how many people that have never been to DLR, and are regulars at WDW, are traveling all the way across the country to go to CL. If they had their own, they would stay there and leave more room for us at DLR! :thumbsup2

(East Coaster's, I'm not bagging on you...:lmao:)

In this case I kinda agree that RSR should remain exclusive to DLR because I feel every Disney park needs to have at least a few signature attractions to differentiate it from the other parks. If Disney is serious about having DCA stand on its own legs it needs to develop its own identity.

No offense taken :thumbsup2 .

I wish they would stop copying attractions between the two resorts. So I hope this is not true. I also wish there was some unique souvenirs. I'm so tired of coming home with the EXACT same shirt I could have bought here but it has DL printed on it instead of WDW. I wish the coasts were viewed more like unique experiences.

I agree with Disney Dreams on his rebuttal of your post. But going further, Expedition Everest is WDW's answer to Matterhorn. Dinosaur is WDW's answer to Indiana Jones. RnRC is the one loop roller coaster at WDW, just like California Screamin' is the one loop roller coaster at the DLR. Radiator Springs Racers is the DLR's indirect answer to Test Track.

Very symmetrical, if you ask me.

I will acknowledge that DHS needs something more added to it. Of the four parks, it has its fans, but overall it is the least popular. And with Avatar Land coming to Animal Kingdom, the deficit between it and the other three will grow.

I disagree with you about POTC, the reason it is the way it is is because they can't go underground at all much since FL is sea level and the water table so high, DL has a lot better luck in this area since they can dig real deep.

The vast majority of people go to the park that is closer to them, I live in FL and know very few that have ever been to DL nor plan too.

I agree completly with you. THey do have many rides that are similar.

One thing to remember if WDW even does get it, it will be many years away. They are still working on Fantasyland and still have avartar-land to work on.

Right now its nothing more than a rumor that is many years away, no reason to be flipping out about it.

Also there's currently a lot of talk from credible insiders regarding major expansion of the DLR over the next decade, including multiple E-tickets at DL, further additions to DCA, as well as plans for an eventual 3rd park. With so much on the table for the Anaheim resort any talk of cloning Cars Land will just be a footnote to the discussion.

I'm a native WDWer, and I think you guys have tons of awesome things that we don't, so awesome, in fact, that I'm planning a second trip to DL soon.

Indiana Jones is amazing and makes the trip almost worth it in and of itself.

WOC is the best nighttime Disney show IMO.

Pirates and SM are much better at DL.

Nemo Subs are a very singular experience that you can't find anything close to at WDW anymore.

Trader Sam's at the DL Hotel.

California Screamin', I love Cedar Point and this gives me a bit of my roller coaster fix.

Matterhorn: was down for refurb during my first visit, but I hear it's amazing.

Disneyland also makes Dumbo fly...when I saw him I was like whoa, there is an elephant flying around the castle.

"Disneyland also makes Dumbo fly...when I saw him I was like whoa, there is an elephant flying around the castle."

This made me smile :)

The chances of WDW getting Cars Land are VERY slim to none. It's not going to happen, most likely and I believe the Disney suits said they intend to keep it exclusive to DCA.
