I have always said that I would never stay onsite because of the cost.
But....

On our visit to DLR last month, my husband had a very bad accident and was hospitalized in ICU at St. Joseph's for three days. Needless to say, our vacation was not the same without him with us.

So next year he wants to take me back and stay at the GC. I will also be celebrating the end of 10 years of babysitting my grandkids while their parents work.

I will be coming back here when it's time to start planning, because I don't know the first thing about which room type to choose, etc.

Do they offer special package deals (room and tickets) at some point?

I would not begrudge you a stay here at GC but if you want to be close the Disney Executive Suite at Tropicana facing the park is as close and about 1/3 of the price.Check it out on Trip Advisor.

And hey life is so short.I would tell you to savor the memories. My wife recently missed a red light in Anaheim. We missed getting hit by a smidge but man you just never know .You can cross the GC off your bucket list.

Keep checking prices at the Disneyland web site and sign-in. "save" the trip a few times and also sign up for the DVD. You should get periodic offers for special prices (hotel only?). Also, check out Dapper Day.....great discounts for several days before and after the actual Dapper Day. good discount on tickets as well. AND lots of fun to dress a little or a lot for the occasion.

I wonder if Halmark makes a card for this. I know I won't be getting one soon.
