Is there any VMK things that I should Know about?

yea you should go see the animator's show to get the animator desk and stool for vmk.. also ask a cast memeber if they know anything about the Year of a Million Dreams.. i am curious to see what they know

If you can, you want to do what CapEldano2 has said except that is a California Adventure, so you will need to go to that park to do so.

As for Disneyland:
There are a few "vmk items with purchase" that you will want to try to get.
Going off memory, they are: Magic Mirror, Red Retro Penny Press, Gold Ears (not available last time I went), White T-Shirt. There are full details on which stores in the players guide.

Quests:
Print the Tomorrowland Quest from the Players Guide and take it with you. Pick up the quests for the other lands at VMK Central in Tomorrowland. When you turn in all completed quests, you will get a bonus pack of cards.

50th Quest - Print this quest from the Player's Guide. (Note: The questions about this quest's status have occurred since the last time I was at DL, but take it with you to turn in. The worst thing they can do it tell you no, right?

High School Musical Quest - Print it from the Player's Guide and take it with you.

I think that is everything. There are a lot of quest cards that you can get right now if you have everything you need with you. Yay for you! Have fun!

Oh - almost forgot - Go up inside Innoventions and create a new character. You will get a Born in Park badge on your character, extra rooms, clothing choices that are not available at home, and a few other goodies.
