SO........as I have posted while away at WDW, I managed not to gain any weight! I have been back since saturday and just cant seem to get back into the groove, I feel like such a hippo--crit! lol
I have reply to many of thhese kinds of posts (the HELP ones). BUt for some reason I just can't apply it to myslef these days. It seems I have fallen into a pattern such as OK a lost a few pounds so I can just eat whatever whenever. AND........YES I have been using the holidays as an excuse not to excercise!
Now although shopping seems to be an excercise (LOL) walking with that cart as fast as I can before someone gets my good deal....or racing to the register first!LOL.
Seriously, I have been just saying AHHHH I ll wait till the holidays are over, or I am just to tired to do anything.
How are you all dealing with the "holidays"
and coming home from a vacation....
bottom line when I have no routine......I get all out of wack and just let it go!
I hate this feeling
HELP!

Renee I have lots of sympathy!

For me, what I am doing is just sticking to plan where possible - being realistic though. There are lots of temptations around - and I'm giving in occasionally! I make sure I stick to plan for breakfast, and that sets me up for the day. I've been out visiting friends/office Christmas meals etc a lot - and it's kind of hard to dictate how they should cater. So therefore I just do my best, but don't beat myself up over this!

I plan to hit induction again on Monday 29th December (not waiting for after New Year - that's too far away!) adn in the meantime I'll do my best and try not to overdo things too much.

Good luck!

Renee, I WISH that I had some words of wisdom to offer you. I have been there done that all too many times before. Last year I lost 75lbs before Christmas and I was really confident that I could eat whatever I wanted at Christmas and then afterwards I would get right back OP. Well let me tell you, it took me until the beginning of Aug. after I had found WISH to get back OP. By this time I had put on 64 of the 75lbs that I had lost. However this year I have learned from my mistakes. When we went to WDW I decided that I was going to eat how I would want to eat when I get to goal. This was a really big test for me, and I didn't know how well I was going to do handling this and getting back OP when I got back. That is where my buddies at WISH came in. Thanks to the support and motivation that I have received here I was able to get back OP the day we got back and this week I lost 5lbs. I have found that the challenges really help me. So when we got back I started the 100 day cheat free challenge again. I don't know whehter any of this would work for you. Perhaps if you decided that you are just going to try and maintain over the holidays that would help. I don't know whether you signed up to the maintenance over the holidays committment thread, but if you haven't that might help. Sorry I have not got much advise or help to offer you, but believe me I do know what you are going through. Good luck to you
::yes::

Renee, commit to doing one thing right, like drinking all your water. No matter what else you do, drink your water! Or you could try eating 2 healthy meals a day and then having one splurge meal. Ease yourself back into your good habits.

All great advice! Like Alison, I try to set the day by having a healthy breakfast. That puts me in the mood to stick with it.

Don't beat yourself up over it. Allow yourself a treat here and there - but balance it out with healthy food too. Once you relax about it, you might surprise yourself by not really having the urge to eat all bad stuff! It's the denying yourself that's driving you crazy! :)

Boy can I relate! We went to Disney at the end of September- October I had pneumonia and November we found out my husband's job would end January 23! All that means = EXCUSES!!! After going a few weeks into December and realizing it was the first month I hadn't lost at all shook me up!
This is what worked for me (cause I'm a carb junkie)- I restricted myself to almost no carbs (eggs/tuna/chicken/lettuce/cheese/low carb veggies) for one week- 6 pounds came off but what's even greater is that my craving for carbs is pretty much gone! Yesterday I allowed myself 2 taco shells and normally I'd be fixing myself 3 or 4- but that was all I needed- so now I'm going into the holidays focusing on 50g or less of carbs and making them good ones (nuts/whole grains/good veggies). This has really kept me focused- and what's more the loss of weight is a BIG motivator!! Now I go immediately for the higher protein foods and the sugary things don't even tempt me! I made 6 batches of brownie gifts and didn't eat a one or sneak a chocolate morsel!
But my short answer for your dilemma is to enjoy Christmas Day- don't worry about what you eat- but don't enjoy the "holidays"- that sometimes makes people think it's a 2 week celebration! If you're good all the days in between Christmas and New Years then you shouldn't have a problem. And listen to all us WISH'ers in your ear "You're striving to be healthy- will this food get you there?" And go buy yourself a nice inspiration pair of jeans- that always gets me motivated! :)
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!
