I am getting so frustrated with MDE!

I just feel like giving up on this vacation but I have already paid out too much money! If I had known that it was going to go like this, I would not have booked.

Story: Three of us are going to WDW Oct 17-27 staying at POR. My DD and BF are arriving at POR 3 days later and all five of us want to tour together and enjoy the parks. I don't get to see her that often. But, she was able to select all her FP+ for the rides and yet we are not able to. We have linked up as friends but I can't even view anything on line now. I have phoned IT a couple of times and they keep telling me that only some people at POR are invited and that she may be but I might not be. I thought that all of POR was testing! We booked this trip in the spring but everything seems to be going wrong. I won't bore you with it all but this experience sure is not very magical to me. We also were not able to get free dining. Am I jinxed?

If we do end up canceling, will the park pass still be valid even though I linked it to MDE?:sad2:

Sorry you are going through such a rough time. From what I understand, some people have been offered the MB's and subsequent FP+'s upon check-in at the testing resorts. I know, not much help, but maybe a wee bit of hope.

As for the linkage, your pass/ticket is still valid. Just call the regular number and confirm it, if it makes you feel safer (which is what I would do.)

Hope things work out.

It is a little frustrating. I had been able to book one day of FP+ but waited a couple of days until she was back home so that we could do them together. Now, I can't book anything but she was able to. I can't even view the one day that I booked the FP+ on now. It just does not make sense and when I called Tech Support, well, they were no support. :sad1:

Not all rooms In resorts are eligible for free dining. They block off certain number of rooms in each hotel. When you booked there was no fd in oct- did you call when they extended it thru oct to add it on?

Do you have some other discount for your stay? You can't get a room discount and fd.

As for mde like all disney sites it is frustratingly buggy.

There's no excuse for a company as big as wdw to have awful websites- ALL THE TIME.

But is that a reason to cancel a vacation and call it not magical?

Don't cancel. The FP+ isn't fully rolled out, right? Just tour the parks together using regular FP and don't use FP+. The crowds should be low anyway, you probably won't have much difficulty with old school park touring.

Yes, my TA did call the resort as soon as it was offered at it but they said that there were no FD rooms available. Yes, we could have switched resorts but the rest of the family was staying there. No, FP+ or lack of it would not cause me to cancel but we have had some serious medical issues in the family and that is why we may have to cancel. Unfortunately, we have bought park tickets, MNSSHP tix and Universal tix already. Sorry, perhaps I need to just keep these issues to myself.

If you have a package and cancel, the tickets will be cancelled. If you bought them separate, they will still be valid.

Disney may work with you to refund the tickets if it's due to medical issues.

In your op you made it sound like you were going to cancel because of the mde issues. I'm sorry you are having medical problems. Disney is usually pretty easy to work with if you need to cancel.

If you do go, I'd not use plus and just use regular fast pass.

Thanks. We did buy the tickets separate so at least we can use those at a different time. I am keeping my fingers crossed that things will work out OK. :grouphug
