Just wanted to say hi!

We leave for Disney in 22 days. Travelling with hubby and two girls (9 & 16). It's the first trip to Disney for all of us. I know, unbelievable that we've never been. Thanks for everyone who has posted helpful information. I have learned a lot from reading the posts. One thing I am worried about is whether I have planned our intinerary right. I had planned to visit the parks on the days that they have early morning and late evening hours. Is this a mistake? Will the parks be crazy. I have read some information that says stay away from the parks on those days. Should I change my schedule around or just leave it. We are staying at the Coronado Springs Resort. Any info re: the resort would be appreciated.

:welcome:

We just did our first trip in June. :cool1: We did the EMH's in the evenings. I found it to be great because it was cooler & the parks had emptied out alot. Maybe they're talking mostly about the morning EMHs. Hope you all have a magical vacation!!!! pixiedust:

When we were just there at the end of June we did just that.

Morning EMH then leave around noon or so hit the pool or waterparks (more waterparks then pool) .Then hit the nighttime EMH parks to finish the day.

We did all we wanted and then some so you should be fine.

Have a plan on what you really want to hit for the mornings and get that done then if it starts to get to crowded Hop to another park.Remember some things are better at night so fit them into your evening EMH plans.

Have fun

Congrats! You'll have a the most magical vacation ever!

Just reminder, being your first time, relax and enjoy. You will not be able to do everything. I've been many many many times and still have not done everything. Plan ahead but still take time to smell the roses. Well, and look for hidden mickey's!

Thanks for the reply. What things do you suggest are better to do in the evening. Again, it is our first trip so not sure what to do when. Just tryin to gain whatever info I can on the boards.

I'll start with Mk> JC,SplashM,BTMRR,HM,
Epcot > TT
MGM >ToT

AK never really hit that late but would imagine EE and Kali would be neet to do.

These rides are great during the day but give an entire different look at night.

For splash if you can get on it during the fireworks it's nice as you come out og the top and see the fireworks ,the castle and space Mt all lit up in front of you.

P.S. What s up with the Tara's and Tink my DD is just crazy about her and is a Tara as well. Click on th TINK ROOM in my Sig and you will see just how much.

I am jealous!!!! We just got back and I wil say that the parks with EMH were very crazy and full in the evenings--we ended up leaving MGM, b/c it was so full. We actually looked at EMH for the rest of the week (evening) and went to other parks in the evening--this worked well!! Above all else HAVE FUN!!!!

That's a neat coincidence. My name is Tara and I am crazy about Tinkerbell too!

I looked at the room pic's. Very nice, my daughter is bugging me to redo her room too!

Thanks again for the tips, I can hardly wait to go.

This is just my opinion for what it is worth. From everything I have read, doing the emh in the morning and then having lunch and leaving the park around noon to go to another park is the best advice I have seen.
It is also suggested that you visit the parks that have the emh the day before or the day after that park has had their emh because they aren't as crowded since everyone is waiting to go to those parks on the days that have emh's. But, sadly this might only work if you have park hopper tickets. :sad1:
Let us know what you did do when you get back! :teeth:

Hello & :welcome:

August is very hot, since your staying at a WDWR we always head back to our room in the heat of the day. I know thats no secret but man its worth it! Have great time!

Disney in August is hot! Depending on the age and activity level of the members in your party, try hitting the parks early then heading back to the hotel for lunch and a swim. You can return to the park later in the day if you have your hand stamped - or you can go to a different park if you have the park hopper option. :)

Since the parks are busy and it is August, we tend to take it easy. We pick 3 attractions we really want to see (on this trip) and take the laid back approach. It is not possible to see everything.

The fireworks from Illuminations can be seen if you are in the right location at Coronado Springs. We were in a room on the second floor that faced toward the Dolphin/Swan. :goodvibes

22 days for us as well! We also planned the EMH days as good ones to go to. We plan on going back the the resort midday to swim, rest, and relax, so the extra hours are great for us! I wouldn't worry about the crowds. If nothing else, use fastpass.
