Give me a baby doll, 2 sleds, and a HEATED TOILET SEAT ... can't you totally hear Ray Stevens singing that? LOL I have to ask - WHO is getting the toilet seat?

I've been hearing that more and more lately!

I've always done all the shopping for both of our families, and it IS a chore.

So wondering how many of you also share the shopping, each doing your own families?

I do all the shopping unless one of our sons wants a certain type of tool. I prefer it that way; DH makes all the money and I get to spend it. Works for me! :rotfl::thumbsup2

Also, something I started doing about 5 years ago is, starting on Dec. 13th I give DH a small gift each day for the 12 days of Christmas. It can be as small as a couple of packs of gum, a woodworking mag or a pkg of his favorite Pep Farm cookies or as big as a bottle of wine or Starbucks gift card. I wrap each one and leave it for him to find (in the front seat of his car, in his underwear drawer, etc. He absolutely loves it and it makes him feel so special. It's a kick for me too, to come up with different things each year. :santa:

I'm almost done.

I just need to finish the PJ's for my nieces and buy a little more for my parents.

I think I have everything for the daycare children. I do need a box of non-mint candy canes so I can add one to each gift.

I used to do all birthday and Christmas shopping, wrapping and mailing for my husband's family. But after 10 years of it, I never got so much as a thank you from them. Not even over the phone. My husband would thank me but that was it. So then I stopped. And you know what? He forgot their birthdays, mother's and father's day and would barely get Christmas done in time. And we still don't get a thank you from his family. So if we aren't going to get a thank you, at least I'm not doing any work now :)

I am almost done shopping for DD (we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas, plus her b-day is this week.) I actally bought her first gift right after Easter, Target had 2-packs of Webkinz on clearance for $4.99 so I bought 2 sets. I am psyched, one set I bought is the Dec "pet of the month" so I will give it to her on the first night of Hanukkah (Dec 1) and she can get all kinds of extras on her webkinz account all month. Though the entire summer I kept picking things up little by little like Leapster games, board games, etc. Today I am going to pick up a few games at TRU, then I just need some stocking stuffers like $1 nail polish from Sally, etc and she is DONE! I have a few relatives I need gift cards for- between my AMEX rewards and the Walgreens up the street it will be easy.

I still have to shop for MIL who is the worst person to shop for, every year I swear I am going to make DH do all her shopping then I cave in. Last year we decided to split everything with SIL- made it much better. Problem is SIL is a last-minute shopper and if I even mention holiday shopping she will say "I am too busy to think of that right now!"

My parents and I stopped exchanging a few years ago, they just buy for DD. We go to Disney every winter with them and that is our present to eachother! Best thing we ever did! :thumbsup2

I'm doing all the shopping for our families. DBF has no desire to, so ah well! Lol.

What are some other things I could do for this? I'm on a limited budget but would love to do this for DBF :scratchin

Aw, baby dolls! That was Christmas to me when I was growing up.:cloud9:

Wish little girls played with them longer. Ours did (and do!) AG dolls but there's nothing like a fresh new baby doll under the tree. Ah, memories!

I just need to buy gifts for my parents. I didn't ask for much and I'm buying a little something for myself (iPod Touch!!!) :cool1:

Good for you!! I got some more of mine done today.. hoping to be done by next week with all the actual presents and then will just do the stocking stuffers as I see something..

I do the shopping for everyone.. With DH, I only have to buy for his mom and grandmom, so I dont have alot to buy extra.. but sometimes it gets overwhelming doing the shopping for everyone..

Sometimes he does come with, but its rare..
