I am so excited I hit some sales and toys r us this morning and I am done with my shopping for all 3 of my kids. Each child will be getting about 10 gifts from Santa!!!!!

I am so proud of myself. I started shopping in Aug. hitting weekly sales on items I knew they wanted and today I wrapped it up.

I have alo purchased gifts for all their classroom and specials teachers.

All I need to get is a gift or each of their cousins and grandparents and I am good.

YEAH!!!!!

It's a good feeling! I am done with the kids, DH, inlaws. I just have to get my parents something but I always wait til the last minute to see if they don't end up buying what I plan on getting them. :)

Now, I have to stay off the black friday sites and all other store sites so I am not tempted to get more!!

Yay:thumbsup2 I am almost done. Still have to get a few more gifts for my mom and dad.

However, all the gifts I have gotten are already wrapped, and I have the tree up and house decorated inside!

I'm almost done, just need to make some jewelry for the girls and pick up a few more things. :) I also have to figure out what to get DD for her bday (dec 15th) and DBF for his (jan 7).

I'm almost done as well. I have to get 1 more thing for my husband and pick up the thing I've picked out for my mom. But I'm pretty much done with our son, my dad, sister and brother in law. My husband is in charge of his family (which means it will get done on Dec 20th and mailed on the 21st, heehee) I shop all year long so I can live with less stress this time of year.

I'm far from done....haven't been able to find work most of the year and DBF's car broke down on us. :sad2: Between that, and him having to go for training on the other side of the country we are a little strapped. BUT I have a job interview on Tuesday, so maybe we'll be turned around! :rolleyes1

I do have a thing here and there, but not too much. The kids made their lists this weekend, and 1 of them is really long :scared::rolleyes:. So I made them star their "top 3" to concentrate on, and we'll go from there. :thumbsup2

You are my new hero!:worship:
I have maybe 4 things purchased and very few ideas. Usually i am way ahead of the game by this point. I have no idea where my brain is. I do know that I absolutely do not want to be wandering around jam packed stores sometime in December so I have a November 30th deadline. For some reason I just don't have the ideas that I usually have by now. Time to get to work on those lists!

Super! I started shopping the end of July. I have DD done, DS 7 is done but for one thing, DS11 only has three things left to buy. Stepson has asked for clothes but he is growing constantly so we will buy MOST of that (esp shoes) actually IN December. Teachers are done, DH's parents are done, still debating my parents gift and everytime I think I have DH figured out something comes up that makes me rethink the gift (car stereo - he may trade the car soon, iPad - he just got a third laptop from work, iPod - he goes back and forth on getting himself an iPhone, Kindle - he loves it but then said he would go broke if he could get his hands on instant reading material with the push of a button LOL) Perhaps just cash ... isn't THAT romantic ;)

Amen to that! I know our lists were shorter when I started shopping this summer. Then other stuff came out that was really neat, too. LOL

Wow...just....WOW! :worship:

Actually, I am very close to finished. We are going to be in WDW and on a cruise Dec 10-22 so I have to get it done early!:cool1:

I just started. uggh. I've bought one small thing for dh and nothing for the kids yet. We're really strapped this year, so I don't know what I'll be able to afford. Still trying to figure it all out. In fact, we just had to cancel our cruise... so I guess I should update my signature. I hate this economy. It's just awful.

I know how you feel. My husband was laided off in April and just started working again a few months ago for about half the pay. That is the reason I started early. I needed to make sure everything I bought was on sale - I had to make our $$$ stretch. The later I buy the more I tend to buy on impulse. If I plan out what I want to get and shop for the deals I save a ton.

Good luck everyone.

Done here too, actually just started to decorate the inside out the house and then the wrapping will follow.....we always do it early since we go to the world for thanksgiving and the week we come back is DD birthday. We like to have everything done so we can relax and enjoy the holiday!

I'm jealous, but I'm getting there, though I did most of my wrapping yesterday and will finish that up today. Congrats on you progress :cool1:

I am pretty much done with DS8 gifts, but I'm not happy about it. I love to shop for my kids and I am sad I have to wait 7 weeks to give them to him!

He is getting a laptop (to share with little brother from Best Buy), MP3 player & skates from WalMart, 2 Wii games (Toy Story Mania & Guilty Party (thanks Southern Redhead for pointing iout my silly error, lol) ) and a Webkinz Music CD burn from Amazon.

Little brother is a little harder to shop for but I got 3 Prince of Persia Lego sets so far from a Disney.com 50% off sale a few months back. So at least I get to shop some more for him :)

Another thing is that from experience in years past is I "finish" early only to find a few more 'must haves' in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

We don't spoil the kids with too much 'stuff' during the year except for what they save up for or to commemerate an accomplishment so I have a tendency to go overboard for Christmas.

I have 4 more gifts to buy. I know exactly what i am buying just waiting for payday to get it done!

Wait....what? There is a Guess Who Wii game? Just all by itself or is it part of a compilation disc? Where did you find it? LOL

I'm with you on going "overboard". I know my kids get more than some of their friends for birthdays and Christmas (and far less than some :scared1:) but they really only get gifts those two days. Pretty much ANYTHING else toy/electronic bought during the other 363 days a year is funded by them. DD paid for her purchases at AG store last month and was very proud of it. I also try to make them save any money given for birthdays or Christmas for at least a few months so they have money to pull out when they "must" have an item and no holiday is in sight!

I've been hearing that more and more lately!

I've always done all the shopping for both of our families, and it IS a chore.

So wondering how many of you also share the shopping, each doing your own families?

I wish we shared the shopping, I even have to do the shopping for my own gifts. Of course I don't mind, at least I get exactly what I want ;)
I have my kids all done, but I still have to finish up almost everyone else but my deadline is Thanksgiving so I still have a few weeks.

I am done with my "official" shopping. All the real gifts are bought, now just anything I pick up that isn't needed immediately gets wrapped and goes under the tree.

I basically use the Black Friday sales to buy stuff for the house, and if possible, some stuff for the "Toys for Tots bin"

After a few years of pulling my hair out trying to find the perfect gifts for FIL, I put DH in charge of his gifts. I buy for everyone else because I enjoy it but his dad is so difficult to buy for I decided to make it easy on myself & handed it over to him. I will offer suggestions if I find them but I don't go out of my way to shop for him. I just tell him what the dollar limit is & let him get what he wants.

He will also pick stuff up for me if I need him to from a specific store as long as I give clear instructions. :lmao:

I wouldn't want to do just my own family as I have no nieces & nephews through my side, only DHs. To me, that is the best part of Christmas shopping so I'd never do his & hers.

So, we're not 'his & hers' but he has taken the most challenging, time-consuming person that I use to have to shop for. I consider it more than a fair deal.
