I know it's rough, Frank - but you WILL get through this! ;) You have more snow in the south than we do in central Illinois - zip!

Ya know that's one thing I do miss about living in the N.E. - SNOW DAYS !!!!

Party at Franks House!

What's that? The roads are impassable? Oh, well. Frank enjoy your nice, quiet day. :D

As I was watching the news, I did think of you, Frank, and Ray, too. So far this year, we've had nothing. There are rumors of some snow and sleet for Sunday, but that's it right now. Well, enjoy your day off. :) Hey maybe it will turn into a 4 day weekend. And, it could be worse...........you could be in Buffalo! :D

4 inches of snow!!! That's considered a "dusting" up here in NE Ohio. Barely worth getting out the shovel for that little snow. :)

I also find it amusing that you can still see the grass peaking through the snow in my yard while the southern states have so much snow on the ground. I have to be careful just how amused I get. We are flying to Orlando on the morning of January 19th on our way to Port Canaveral. If our flights are delayed or cancelled, I will NOT be amused. :earseek:

Hang in there Frank and enjoy the snow day.

That is too funny! "Four inches" of snow and the roads are "impassable"?????

Obviously I'm from the northeast and I have to agree with that other poster who said 4 inches of snow wouldn't even be worth getting the shovel out for.. :)

I'm happy that you're getting a day off though! Don't imagine you get many "snow days" in your neck of the woods..

Haven't had time to watch the news and/or weather the past couple of days.. What's going on down there in the south?

Have a good day and enjoy it while you can! :)

NC got hit pretty hard too and DS is driving home in it. Will I worry all day if the roads are that bad tonight - you betcha. Will it melt soon down there so I can stop worrying? I hope so.
Enjoy your day Frank, it's better to be home safe.

Have a fun snow day Frank.... I cannot believe that we have not been hit yet.. Living in New England, I expect the snow to be flying by now.. I probably will eat those words soon.. Enjoy your day off.. :)

A little info for those who live where it snow alot... in the south they do not have very many snow plows or salt trucks...so when it snows even a little they are unable to keep the roads cleared. Sometimes it takes days for them to get to all the roads. Plus they are not used to driving on slick roads, so that causes much chaos down there.

When I first moved to Minneapolis I we got 12 inches of snow for my first snow, and I was amazed that all of the roads were cleared before I woke up the next morning.

So frank enjoy them while you can...if you move up north, there is no such thing as a snow day.

That reminds me of when a friend of mine got the wild idea to go to Eskimo Joe's after a snow here in Oklahoma. (Stillwater is about 40 or so miles from here) Her cousin from New York was in on vacation and had volunteered to drive, (thinking we were all crazy and exaggerating the roads in Oklahoma when it snows) They barely got outside of town before they had slid off in a bar ditch. (This was before the times of cell phones so they had to get out and walk a couple of miles in the snow to get to a phone and call a wrecker)

Thank God I had enough brains in my head to be amused with them instead of joining in to their planned "fun!"

:) :) :) :) :) :)

I saw the snow reports last night, Frank, and wondered if you'd be having a snow day today. Enjoy your time off!

We don't have them here in my part of Oregon except for the kids. We are expected to crawl to work if necessary. Even 4 inches of snow can mess us up because we have no snow plows or dump trucks for gravel. The state does keep the two main roads plowed because they are part of the state highway system. Other than that you are on your own.

I remember leaving in Presque Isle, Maine with up to 350 inches of snow a year. You lost the ground in December and saw it again in April. Don't miss those days at all.

Say Frank, you could use this new found time to post more on the boards and build up your post count so everyone will quit picking on you about that. :p

A snow day??? Sounds great!!! We don't have snow days :(
I hate snow, but I'd love to get a day off!:D

I hope you had a great day!!!

Hey Frank, I think the snow must have been rerouted from New England! I can still see the ground here, almost (please note I said almost) miss it. I do miss watching my dogs romp in the snow. You know that pristine look of a new snowfall, everything looks perfect? Well, then we open the door and out go the kids. In about 20 seconds, no more pristine snow. Now many paths everywhere, and watch out for the yellow snow. (That was for you Barry!)

And who would ever pick on Fran about his thread count? ::whistling tunelessly::

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. After all that snow (and yes, even one inch is enough to screw up traffic around here) even the roads in my subdivision were dry by three. So I guess I have to go back to work tomorrow.

At least I spent my day doing something constructive. Well, sort of. I watched Moulin Rouge again. (Dayna, I'll give you my review on your original posting.)

Okay, I've had enough wintry weather for the year. Anyone from up north that's missing snow, I send it to you with my compliments.

Frank

Hi Frank

I hope you are having fun on your snow day. I wish we had sun days sometimes. I think work should be forbidden when outside is more than 104°F.

:earseek: :earseek: Good Grief! :earseek: :earseek:

Okay, where is Frank? Whoever you are impersonating our friend Frank....you better just STOP! We KNOW that Frank would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER start a thread on his own....and he would certainly NEVER, NEVER, NEVER come back on and make further commentary! So whoever you are.......give us OUR FRANK back!!!
