I have to DD's 10 & 11, my 11yo LOVEs rollercoasters, my 10yo (and myself  ) does NOT like rollercoaster. I was wondering, for all you experts...is IOA and USO more for the courageous, or can us chickens enjoy the parks as well? :confused3

There's only a few coasters/intense thrill rides. There's plenty for us non-courageous to do!

Look past Hulk Dr. Doom and Dragons....there is plenty for everyone. The only "thrill" ride at US is ROTM. Again, plenty to do, all you have to do is look.

I am a ride chicken and there is tons for me to do! I even rode the Mummy (twice) when we went for HHN. :cool1:

DH is a ride chicken and he love US/IOA. He will even ride the mummy at least 1x each trip

You don't have to like coasters to like US/IOA - Universal Studios in particular has lots of attractions that appeal to ALL of us.

My son and I don't do the big roller coasters and we have plenty to do at both parks. Spider Man and the Mummy are great for chickens! My husband and daughter do the big rides together and my son and I go off and do other things and never get bored.

As a self-confessed chicken, US is fantastic. I don't do simulators or roller-coasters and find there's plenty to do at both parks. I particularly enjoy a few minutes peering inside all the pretend shop windows in the Studios whilst waiting for everyone else to finish. Rides like Earthquake, Jaws, Poseidon and Jurassic Park River Adventure are great fun without making you feel sick. You'll enjoy it. If you are going to be splitting your party I'd recommend getting fastpasses though.

don't forget the shows !!

at the studios i go to see the horror make up show at least twice on my visits. we love it !

animal planet show is cute, posidens is good for at least once also sinbad is very entertaining. when you do the shows, it cuts into the day from ride time. not everything at UO that is great are the rides.

i have spent over an hour at the photo area for donkey and shrek just watching them in action for the picture sessions. it's all ad libbed and so funny.

i find more than just rides at UO to entertain me.

if you don't like coasters, there are rides no one else has that are great.
think spiderman, seuss land, lucy tribute , MIB to name a few of our favorites.

it is a different experience but when we went the first time, we got hooked.
have been going back since 1993 every year.

i love how the characters talk to you. they really act the part.

Universal Studios is my 70 year old mother's favorite theme park in Orlando. And she is a typical 70 year old woman (i.e. not a coaster daredevil)

And IOA has been my sons' favorite park since they were 2 and 4 years old.

they are wonderful parks with something to offer all ages. Have a great time!

Thank you everyone for your supportive and informative comments!! OK, I have made the decision (because I do the vacation planning-no one else wants to) and we are going to GO FOR IT!!! We are going to US, IOA and SW!! I am very excited for a "new" type of vacation.

Thanks again!! I LOVE this board! :thumbsup2
