I know, i remember being blown away when they walked us to our chairs

I may be that guy everyone in the casino glares at and throws up their arms in frustration at...the guy that never plays the slots, just happens to walk by and decides to throw in a coin and give it a pull, and hits the jackpot on the first roll.

For my trip last week, I had booked my home resort around 6 months out, no real planning - found a Boardwalk view 1-bedroom available, so I snagged it - and as usual, I put in a request for some specific room numbers I like. When I checked in early at 12:30pm on Friday, Sep 19, they said my room was ready, and it was one of the room numbers I requested - 2nd floor (lobby level), Boardwalk view, massive covered balcony. All fell perfectly into place!

Even better, I cleaned up on the Transportation Craps game game this trip. First day, was going to walk over to DHS, but the boat was just pulling into Swan and Dolphin, so I walked over there to hop on, then walked back.
Saturday headed to MK, I decided to walk to DHS to try to catch an MK resort area bus as I like entering MK by boat - as I was walking up towards DHS, I see the Wilderness Lodge bus sitting there with its door open - the bus stop is right next to the Boardwalk path, several hundred yards before the DHS entrance - so that was unbelievably lucky. Walked through Wilderness to the boat dock and the boat was already boarding - hopped right on! Walked over to Steakhouse 71 for dinner after, then walked back to the MK bus stop and my Boardwalk bus was sitting right there, ready to board!
No busses needed Sunday as it was Epcot day. Monday I headed to the Boardwalk bus stop to get to AK and guess what bus had just pulled up? Yep - AK! Leaving AK, right at closing, the bus stops were pretty crowded and I saw the Boardwalk bus leaving before I got there - but as I approached I noticed the Beach/Yacht bus was sitting there with the door open and no line - so I hopped on before the door closed and took right off. I walked through the Yacht lobby and found the boat from DHS was just pulling up to the dock, so hopped on for a quick ride back to Boardwalk. Longest wait for any transportation the entire 4 day trip was 0!

She also texted “got early check in at IHG”. Since she knew I’d be waiting another 4 hours for my room.

OMG that’s hysterical. I have a son who would totally do this to me.

Had Friday - Tuesday booked next June in a studio. Wait-listed a date change to Saturday - Wednesday. It came though! It's not the same as winning DVC slots but almost as exciting, lol

I had forgotten about this and panicked when I got the email that my original reservation was cancelled, lol. But happy that it worked out. Though now I have 4 extra points this year that may end up going to waste (first time that's ever happened, oh well)

Yeah, that's why I did the wait-list. This will be at VGC. I think I can't get any more otup because I bought some for a WDW trip this December and my UY doesn't reset until next October. Oh well!

DVC SLOTS

I stalk the website often for various trips mainly because I am indecisive, I change my plans often, I change my plans last minute, and I go to Disney way too much now that I am a DVC owner. I am certified DVC gambling addict. I have the site up on my desktop in the background and so I am constantly pulling the lever hitting refresh and update all day long. In essence I am playing the DVC slots to see what I can score for that upcoming trip!

Often you can hear all the coins dropping in the background when a great room pops up.



Disclaimer: If you watch Disney Youtuber's you probably realize I basically stole this term from "Ear Scouts" he calls modifying LLMP reservations playing the Disney slots. Since this is DVC related I am going to take full credit for coming up with the term DVC Slots.

You are right. Sometimes rooms end up on website before waitlist matches for some reason

Im really happy with what I got going on for April I needed one more day at vgf 1 brdm to not have any gap days.

Been trying for a couple weeks now. I went to the cemetery for Dia de Los muertos today to visit my family and I asked for a little help A few minutes later, the day popped up and I grabbed it

Thank you, I couldnt believe my eyes!! Now we have an entire week in a one bedroom i just can't believe how fortunate we are to be able to stay in this kind of room in this beautiful hotel, feeling very blessed for sure.

I cant wait to see the egg displays, eat some snacks from the cottage, hopefully visit the tea room, possible Victoria and Alberts ahhh im so excited

I dont know how many times ive watched the room tour we've only stayed at the resort studio but I have a feeling were going to be all about this og side!

Just wait until you unpack and you wonder how many more suitcases you could have brought with you as the closet is massive.

Then there is the shower which is big enough to fit the max room occupancy limit in.

You two will certainly enjoy the room.

This is one reason we book 1-2BRs now at WDW. We started out thinking we would be fine with studios. But the bigger villas are like apartments; now I love unpacking and pretending that I live there, lol

I know, at first I was on that mind set of "the studios are a better value" and then i think thats so silly because to me the one bedrooms should be worth double points.

I understand cash rates dont value it at that, but I would never pay cash rates that high so it's not like I shouldnt stay there because I would pay less in cash. The room is twice as nice, so for me worth twice the price.

And yes you can get another bedroom for less points than two bedrooms, but if you dont need the space its not worth it like were getting everything the two bedroom has except one room we dont need, to me its totally worth it.

Like others, I didnt join dvc for a standard hotel room. I bought SSR to have longer trips/better rooms!

What is not amazing is having to wait 5 months to read your awesome trip report about this stay.
