I Am Athlete
I live a life of truth and consequences, I accept the first and take responsibility for the other. If its time to train and its raining, I will get wet. When the Distance is long I will become tired. Im going to be alone with my thoughts, I had better learn to enjoy my own company. Should I have friends to train with I must respect their abilities.
Eating is to refuel and not to seek comfort. What I think is in direct proportion to how I perceive the world around me. How I react to that world is going to be a never ending journey. I choose to move and grow because I could not live with the decision to stay where I am. I accept challenge, I can not do other wise.
I am my own team, victory or defeat is based on my performance and mine alone. Training with others is a wonderful time of joy and fellowship, a time for recharging. Competition is all about me and the clock. No one can feel my pain for me, I have to endure, overcome, go the distance alone.
My muscles are hard, my mind is healthy, my thoughts are not of gathering things but of making memories. My brother and sister athletes strengthen me when Im lame and hurting. I am not my brothers keeper but his hand up when he falls as he would be for me.
Stand tall and be proud my fellow athletes. Others will call you crazy, say you are not normal. They are like caterpillars that havent made the change yet, they can not yet comprehend the spreading of wings.
Thanks for reading.
