I am ashamed on my government

When we need help, where do we turn? I hate the idea of war, but the thought that our Prime Minister turned his back on our closest allies disappoints me to no end. Not that we have much in the way of resources to offer but as a show of solidarity, I feel he should have decided to back our American friends. He should also muzzle his idiot Ministers

Aw, Cathy, don't feel bad. Unfortunately leaders of countries don't always do what reflects the opinions of their countrymen. It is the personal contact like this that helps all of us to understand each other's cultures and beliefs and to know who our friends are. Maybe your prime minister is not our friend, but we know that the people of Canada are.

Well, CC, they say "all politics is local" and it's the absolute truth. The politicians always do whatever they think will keep them in office a little longer (no, I'm not cynical). That goes for EVERY country with a free election process.

We know the average Canadian is our friend.

Ya know.... I think Americans are used to the fact that we help other countries..but don't always get it in return. I said "used to it"... I didn't say we liked it or agreed with it.

Strip off your hard 'exterior' "evil mistress" shell for just a minute and hear me out.

The "north end" of "the farm" borders with your great nation....I have personally done my Groceries shopping in Canada. I can tell ya...with out any doubt...that the people of Canada are honest..hard working...sincere....GREAT friends of the people of the United States.....This....is a blip....between us...IF things goes as we expect they will...there will be a HUGE "re-building" need for the benefit of the people of Iraq....I'm CONFIDENT that the Government and People of Canada...WILL be a part of that most important phase of this expected plan!

You should not feel that you personally need to apologize for the action(s) of the Canadian Government....Frankly....if I felt like I should apologize to you (and others) for the actions/inaction of our Government...there'd be little time left for me to express myself.

Canada..Is, Has Been, Will Always Be...one of the single greatest allies to the US of A....ever imagined!......and hav'in met so many WONDERFUL folks from Canada...I can ASSURE ya...That's never gonna change!!!!
