We can't help where we're from and can't convince everyone our opinions are right. We only hope they are. Those are very nice words and thanks for the support.

My MIL is a US citizen but came from a French Island - New Caledonia and wondered the other day if she would be rounded up and put in a camp like we did with the Japs in WWII. I told her I didn't think she had to worry.

She told us about the war and how their tiny island was a source of great conflict. Since most of the island was for DeGaulle and Petrain was in charge in France. A conflict within a conflict since Petrain was for the Germans. War---- so many decisions and we all think we're right. In the end, our sons and daughters die. At that point, it doesn;t matter, your child is gone. I pray for all of us.

I'm sure we'll have more "friends" than we can count when it's all said and done. We've got thick skin here and are used to being crapped on by the rest of the world. Haven't you noticed that everything that goes wrong in the world, universe, cosmos. . . .is the fault of the good old USofA? Everyone wants us to fork over the cash, help in times of trouble, bail them out when they create holes they can't climb out. . .they'll come 'round when they need something.

There is way too much history and friendship between us to keep us apart for long. Don't apologize and don't feel bad. Cathy, I certainly don't blame you for your governments position on the war. Thank you for your support. I don't know anyone personally from Canada, but I do love some of your fellow countrymen (we have a number of Canadians on our local hockey team, the Mississippi Sea Wolves, in Biloxi, Mississippi. Yes, we do have hockey in the South, and love it. So thanks to Canada, and thanks to you, Cathy.

I am not crazy about the war but I think it is necessary now ecspecially since 9/11. It is all too real now for many people. It's too bad that Saddam and his regime weren't finished off in 1990.
