A.J. (5) goes to a public preschool in the afternoon. Yesterday when I dropped him off the teacher came up to me and said "This little guy's name came up in a parent/teacher meeting today"!Of course I panicked at first!!LOL She proceeded to tell me that a little boy in his class(Emmanuel) has some learning disabilities(I knew this but never asked what his disability was). He doesn't really speak. His Mom wanted Mrs. Rose to know how nice A.J. was to her son. He always helps him and Emmanuel has been trying really hard and now says A.J.'s name all the time at home!! Mrs. Rose said this is a huge accomplishment for Emmanuel and we should be very proud with A.J. for being such a kind boy. We've always called him our "love" child because he just overflows with it but this brought tears to my eyes as well as Mrs. Rose's! I just had to share because I am beaming with pride!!

awww...how nice!

Looks like you are raising a perfect little gentleman over there...congrats to you too mom for instilling such good values/morals into your child! :)

What a great tribute to you for raising such a nice young man.

That's so neat. You should be VERY proud of your child. Sometimes people with disabilites can scare kids, but your child seems to have been raised very well at home.

(You should be proud of your parenting skills as well!!! :flower: )

That brought a tear to my eyes to. I am so proud of my son when he helps other children - I think I am more proud when that happens then when he counts or says his colors because it gives me a glimmer of the wonderful person he is becoming.

I love seeing the love that a five year old has in their heart. They are amazingly precious. Yours seems to be extra precious thanks to an amazing set of parents. I wish so deeply that I will get a similar report when my son is five. What a great thing to have reported to you and how wonderful of both the parents and the teacher to tell you about it.

O.K. now I'm a crying fool! LOL Thanks for all the wonderful compliments.
You want to know something funny. When he was born I was told by a few people that he was going to be a "special, loving child". Know why??? His 2nd and 3rd toes on each foot are webbed!!! LOL Apparently, this is some sign, somewhere, of a gifted child!! Too funny!! Now, I'm not saying that he is loving because his toes are webbed:rolleyes: I just think it's funny that it's coming true!!! Now, Mattie, only has 1 foot with webbed toes-does that mean he will only be half as sweet? LOL

Very nice, Kim. So nice A. J. is showing kindness and caring so early. That's good.

That is wonderful. A.J. sounds like a wonderful little man.

As a parent, who has been through my fair share of teacher conferences, it always means so much more to hear that my child is a nice, kind, caring person....much more than hearing my child is gifted.:bounce: You're doing a wonderful job as a parent!::yes::
