Hello! I hope this is the right place to post this question...

We will be Disney bound and driving through the night this Friday/Saturday a.m. on 95-South from NC. Are there any gas stations that are particularly safe/well lit/busy along the way in SC/GA? Or any exits we should avoid? We've traveled this route before, but not in the middle of the night. TIA.

I usually stop in Walterboro which is about 53 miles from GA with no problems. Many gas stations there and all are well lit. Santee at mile 98 is also a decent place to stop, Manning at mile 119 has a truck stop which I have used.

Well no....lol. I have been somewhat nervous a couple of times in the wee hours of the morning at gas stations along 95. You just have to be aware of your surroundings. Pay attention to what's going on around you, look around, be alert. Don't pull out your phone and start lookin at FB. Get out of the car with someone. Don't let your car get low on gas, this way if you pull in to a station and it doesn't look good you can drive on. Recently in GA I didn't have a good feeling, I felt like something was going to happen. Some shady characters milling around so I went in the back of my truck and pulled out the pipe I use on my trailer hitch. I stood and pumped the gas with a pipe in my hand, nothing happened lol. I'm not trying to scare you, I'm sure you will be fine, just be aware of your surroundings.
