Hi everyone we are leaving for our trip on Friday afternoon :cool1: We are driving for the first time from upstate New York, we are taking it slow and getting to South Jersey by Friday night, South Carolina by Saturday night and hopefully Disney by late afternoon Sunday.

My question is I'm trying to figure out dinner for Saturday evening but I can't seem to find anything off I-95 in South Carolina. The I-95 exit guide lists hotels and rest stops but no food for South Carolina. Is it very rural in that area and should we stop to eat in North Carolina or is it just me not being able to find anything :confused3

Thank you for any help!!

Do you have a specific town in South Carolina you are interested in? We stay in Florence and there are many food choices at that exit. We stayed at the Quality Inn and within walking distance there were several choices. It's a great area to stop. Right off 95 too.

As the PP said, we don't know how far into SC you plan to be. We like Cracker Barrels. There's a nice one at Exit 98 in Florence and another one we've stopped at in Santee at Exit 98. Florence has an Outback Steak House at Exit 160.

When we drove down last year, we ate at Fatz, also in Florence. We stayed in a Holiday Inn (?) across the street which I do NOT recommend, but I highly recommend Fatz! Food was delish, not too expensive. Then again, we had been driving since 4:00 am departure from Massachusetts so maybe anything would taste good at that point - lol!

Not a ton of options in SC, but as one of the posters mentioned your best options are Florence (exits in the 160's) or Santee (exit 98) off of 95. You should have no problem finding multiple food/hotel choices in either area. Depending on how far you can make it if you can get to the SC/GA line you've also got plenty of Savannah options, too.

We never stop in SC...if possible, I would drive into Georgia. There are tons of good options around Savannah.

Thanks guys!! We are stopping in Manning, South Carolina at exit 119. I'm not sure what time we'll get there so we might be able to stop in North Carolina but if nothing else I found out there's a Wendy's nearby so we will have something to eat :)

I think we stopped for lunch on one of our trips at a BBQ place in Manning. It was good, but a couple years ago, and I can't remember its name. There should be a few choices in the area. :goodvibes
