I-95 - is it a mess with construction?

A co-worker of DH's returned from Florida and said I-95 is a mess with construction and his family encountered six wrecks that delayed traffic and that they almost missed the ship for their cruise. Anybody want to comment on recent trips on I-95. He just returned yesterday.

We drove from Washington DC to Orlando on 4/24 and back on 5/1. We didn't encounter any problems. There were some slower speed areas due to construction, but nothing really slowed us down much or stopped us. The only accident we encountered was on the return trip on I-4. There was a huge accident about 10 miles outside of WDW that got us off to a slow start. Other than that, we had an easy trip.

We returned the 1st of April (Tampa to S Jersey) there are a couple of construction areas but nothing that held us back and we saw no accidents on the way. We try and make the trip on the weekends seems to be less semi's on the road, we leave early in the AM on the drive south this get us thru the DC area before the traffic builds up!
