Not sure if this is the place to put this or not. I need info on a good hotel, reasonably priced on I-95 north of Jacksonville. We would like to stay over night on our trip back home in December so that we can take advantage of the last day of our passes. Anyone have any recommendations?

You might want to look at Kingsland, GA, which is about 1/2 hour north of Jacksonville. There are a few good motels there, lots of restaurants, and good gas prices. It is at Exit 3 on I-95.

Good luck.

We have ALWAYS had great experiences with HAMPTON INNS, so if you can find one of those, I am sure you will not be disappointed. They are one of the few "reasonably-priced" hotels that have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, and I have never had to use it. Everything from reservations (1-800-HAMPTON) to customer service is wonderful. Highly recommended!

I would have also recommended Country Inns & Suites, but my last experience with them this summer (and it was a BAAAAD one) has yet to be resolved. Steer clear.

Have a great trip!

We are planning several stops at various Country inn and suites on our way to and back from Disney in May 2004...

May I ask what your bad experience was and where??!!

Thanks for the information...

E.

I cant remember the address, but there is a great website for I95 road trippin.

The location was the Hershey, PA property, for two nights. The main problem was the lack of the 'continental breakfast' that is adverstised consistantly through the chain, and is something we plan on and look forward to, as there is usually enough variety of items to keep everyone happy. I am VERY easy to please, and I am aware the quantity and selection of breakfast items vary from property to property.

But this property ran out of most everything in the first half hour, was not replenished, nor was any staff available to speak to. The only item in abundance was coffee. The dining area stayed dirty, was never bused, and trash overflowed onto the floor from the cans. This may not sound like a big deal, but in addition, the hotel in general was not kept clean, and for being a relatively new hotel, I found this unacceptable.

When, on the second day, I asked at the front desk to speak to the manager on duty, I was told there was not one. Wow.

I wrote the corporate office, only to receive a form letter thanking me for my business, which indicated to me that my thoughts were not even read.

I refuse to give my business to a chain with this lack of concern for its patrons.

I do not wish to paint all the CI&S properties with a wide brush. But I have never had this lack of concern with other chains.

We stayed at a hotel in Va. that i got off the internet. continental breakfast was a box of crispy creams the front desk had hidden under the desk and you had to ask for them. They also failed to mention the nice train they had across the street. I woke up in the middle of the night to train whistles and the room was shaking.(Twice) Do you remember the I love lucy with the train. This was us. This was a suite and in the middle of the living room was a giant bathtub. My kids thought this was cool. I thought it was weird. We still laugh about this. Oh the memories. All this for $99.00 a night.

We have stayed in Brunswick GA many times. There are a lot of hotels there right at the I95 exit. Check with AAA or the usual Holiday Inn.com, DayInn.com, etc.
