I-65 North AL hotel help

We will be driving to the Beaches of South Walton this June and would like to know if anyone can recommend a decent area for a quick stop over/hotel in the Norther portion of Alabama, right along I-65. Thanks!

If you want to go all the way to Birmingham and are willing to go about 7 miles off I-65 you might want to treat yourself to Ross Bridge...this is part of the Robert Trent Jones golf trail and is a very nice place to stay...if anyone in your group likes golf you may never make it to the beach...on the way home be aware of the trouble on 65 between Cullman and Huntsville...the interstate is closed due to a sinkhole and all traffic is being rerouted...hopefully this will be corrected by the time you make your trip....it has been a traffic nightmare....

Oh I hope so too! Thanks for the tips. There are some in our group that love golf, so maybe we better stop there on the way back from the beach!

If you're interested, the Space Center in Huntsville is not far off I-65, and Huntsville is a nice place.
