I checked out the transportation info for driving down I-95 and the exit info was great. Thanks to the person who put that together. We will be driving in from Jacksonville, (great airfare deal for us from Honolulu) and was wondering if there is a list like this for the portion of the trip between I-95 and WDW. Any driving directions I can get would be greatly appreciated. I also will be looking for good gas prices and a place to stop to get the necessities for our stay.

TIA

P.S. I tried to search this board, but the search wouldn't give me any info. It didn't even tell me that it found nothing matching my search request.

Not sure what you would like to know. You leave I-95 and enter I-4 at Daytona Beach. Gas prices are relatively high in Volusia County (Daytona) but if you have a full tank in Jacksonville you wouldn't need any at that point.

When you cross the St. John's River Bridge and enter Seminole County (at Sanford) you have a choice of two routes. You can stay on I-4 or you can get on TOLL 417 (Central Florida Greeneway) which is the eastern bypass around Orlando. Not sure what time you're departing JAX and thus what time you'd be passing through Orange County and Orlando, but if your drive puts you in the Orlando area from 6am to 9am or 4pm to 7pm then avoid I-4 due to extreme congestion around downtown Orlando and all the way through the Attractions. Instead invest a few dollars in tolls and take the 417 around Orlando and enter the WDW area that way.

As you get close to the Land of the Mouse, exit 6 (SR 536) is a good exit to get off at. Proceed straight off the exit to the 2nd traffic light which is SR 535 and turn left. About a mile down on your right is a Wal-Mart Super Center and out front are gas stations (Hess, Wal-Mart, Citgo) where prices are decent for the Orlando area. When finished SR 535 north heads to Lake Buena Vista while SR 536 would take you directly into WDW and it becomes EPCOT Center Drive.

Aloha!

Thank you so much for the great info. We arrive JAX around 9:30 am, so we should be getting into Orlando around 1-1:30 in the afternoon. Is the exit 6 your referring to off of I-4 or 417? We just want to make a quick stop for water and snacks and fill up the car before turning it back in on property. Can you recommend any place off of I-4 to grab some lunch? Since we fly all night, the kids will probably sleep part of the way.

I second the information given by Bob.

Mom, exit 6 was the exit number on TOLL 417. Off I-4 you would get off at exit 68 (SR 535 - Lake Buena Vista / Kissimmee) and turn left/head south about 4 miles to get to the previously described Wal-Mart and gas stations.

If you land at JAX around 9:30am then realistically by the time you get your luggage and rental car it will be 10:30am. You'd still be on I-95 at lunch time. You can consider the Daytona Beach area for lunch; many restaurants are on US92 heading east into Daytona. Each exit has signs listing the restaurants at that exit if you're hungry earlier or later.
