Alright, so as you may or not know, I live on Long Island, which is a hop skip and a jump away from New York City. For a day trip my boyfriend and I decided to get tickets to see Billy Joel's broadway show "Movin Out".

So after we spend a wonderful day shopping, we watch the play. After the final curtain call, who comes out on stage? BILLY JOEL!!! He lives in the Hamptons, so he's obviously not scheduled to be there on a normal basis.

What's better? He hops up to the band platform and preforms three songs on the piano after the show!!! So not only did I see an AWESOME broadway play, but I got a mini concert from Billy Joel!!! Not to mention the fact that he was only about 50 feet away from me with a perfect view, much better than I would have had at any concert.

I am giddy with excitement!!! I just had to share, after all, I am a Long Islander, and you know how us Long Islanders feel about our Billy Joel ;)

That is awesome! You really lucked out. And yes we do love our Billy Joel

We saw this in Chicago before it even went to New York and it was fabulous btw... a must see inho, anyway...While we were waiting for the show to beging you hear a bunch of people yelling and clapping and carrying on.....not "proper" theater behavior. Well I turn around and guess who is sitting RIGHT behind me.....Billy Joel. We ll I have NO idea who is sitting there (he looked a lot differant as I remembered him looking....he had a lot more hair from what I remeber....) and ask DH what is all this commotion about. He tells me Billy Joel is sitting right behind me. OK, so this is really cool now!! So after the show I turn around and say thank you to Billy Joel for all of the wonderful music to make the show possible and he asks me.........."How did you get better seats than me?" I busted out laughing. He seems like a very cool guy and really enjoyed the show. My only regret is not getting his autograph on my stage bill..... But I figured he should have a life without having to give autographs at a theater production. Now I am going to HAVE to go see it again because I heard they made some changes between Chicago and Broadway. I love the theater!!! Next show...Mamma Mia for the third time at the end of this month!!! Can't wait!!!!!

wow. I know several people who knew Billy Joel before he became famous, but I never met him or saw him up close and in person. I am soooo jealous.

What an exciting treat that was! I'm not a Long Islander, but I'd be pretty happy about seeing Billy Joel. Many of us Chicagoans like him, too!!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful day.

When are you going?
We'll be there over Labor Day weekend, and are doing Mamma Mia (again!!) on the 30th matinee!!

I've seen that Louise Petrie will be leaving the show in October, so we wanted to see it once more with the Tony Winner in the role.

We can't wait!!

You are sooooo lucky. He is the greatest.

How cool is that? I am a NYer and a Billy Joel fan and would have loved to be there, so glad you had such a special treat.
