I’m so upset

I did everything right and still didn’t get a pass for rise of the resistance. It’s our honeymoon and this is our only HS day. I can’t stop crying 😭
How many more days is your trip?

For a bit more money you could upgrade to park hoppers and rearrange to visit DHS on another day.

Park hopping into DHS will NOT give you access to the virtual queue to Rise of the Resistance.
- You must have a DHS park reservation for the 7am queue.
- You must have a DHS park reservation AND be in DHS for the 1pm queue.
- Park hopping begins at 2pm.

So getting a park hopper will give you greater freedom not to "miss out" on other parks in the afternoon if you can get DHS reservations to try every morning for the 7am queue and for the 1pm in-park queue.

I'm a Star Wars fan myself, and I understand how disheartening it can be to miss out on a fan experience that "sells out" in seconds. *hugs*

But, the rest of your post goes on to explain how upgrading to the Hopper option certainly CAN.

My question was specifically about how many days the OP has left in the trip so that we could then have an informed discussion about how to possibly proceed.

Where here until wendsday but only 3 more park days non hoppers. How much is the upgrade
Since you look to be very interested in RotR, it might make sense to add another "day" to your ticket and/or upgrade to Park Hopper and give yourself more chances to get to ride.
You need to weigh the cost vs. the amount of anguish you MIGHT be able to alleviate if you did happen to get a chance to ride.

On the Disney World site ticket page:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/admission/tickets/Look up the cost of the kind of ticket you WANT
(additional day(s) -OR- adding the Hopper option -OR- both)
then subtract the amount that your current ticket cost,
and you pay the difference for the upgrade.

I’ve never tried this, but assuming you can switch next 3 days’ Animal Kingdom and Epcot reservation to Hollywood Studio (if park reservation is even available?)

Is it possible to try ROTR queue at 7am, and if you don’t get it, drop HS and reserve AK or EP (since you technically haven’t entered the park)?

Now a hang up would be if you had in park dining reservation. Cancelling within 24hrs will cost you $ penalty. Best plan would be what others have said, if you can add more park days (cheap past initial 4 days).

I'm not sure if we're saying the same things, but my point is that if they use the remaining days to attend DHS (if DHS park reservations are available) that's all they need for a chance to ride RotR.

Park hopping itself has nothing to do with a chance to ride RotR, and that's a primary reason it appears the former 2pm in-park queue time was pushed to 1pm in-park queue time.

For example, to ride RotR:
1) Get DHS park reservation (& read the thread on virtual queue here on DIS boards)
2) Try for rotR queue at 7:00am.
3) If successful, go to DHS. If unsuccessful, make a choice to change your park reservation to DAK, MK, Epcot, or go into DHS for 1pm queue attempt.

4a) If at 7:01am (after the queue slots are filled) you choose another park, and get a reservation, guests don't need park hopper- unless they want to see other parks after 2pm.
4b) If at 7:01am, you choose to try for 1pm in-park queue, then go to DHS. If you don't get into the queue, guests don't need park hopper- unless you want to see other parks after 2pm.

Either way, the park hopping is after a park reservation, and allows the guest to experience more Disney parks. It doesn't allow the guest to experience more chances to ride RotR.

You are describing a distinction without a difference.
The OP is crestfallen by not getting to ride RotR.
There’s a way (more than one way) to “try again.”
Upgrading to Hopper can be a major part of the process.

I would love to understand more fully how using a park hopper will allow a guest to experience RotR. Could you please explain how the park hopper will be a major part of the process to ride RotR? I'm clearly not seeing it. Thanks!

I think it goes back to the OP saying they only have one day set aside for DHS, and limited days overall. So if they want a chance at both queue releases for each of the remaining days, and they still want to go to the other parks, a park hopper will allow them to hop OUT of DHS to another park each day. It gives them two chances per day to get a spot.

Without hoppers, they will only have access to the first queue release, and still have the ability to go to a different park if they don’t get a spot. Of course, for both, it all depends on whether there are even park reservations left for DHS. If not, it’s all a moot point anyway.

So either way will help, but the hopper route gives them two chances per day, where the non hopper option gives them just one. I guess it depends how badly they want to ride and whether their budget allows for the upgrade.

1. Yup.
2. Yes. They could still go to another park for part of that Hopper day.
Also, since they will be at WDW until next Wed. (a long way off) they could add another day to their ticket. (No, I don't know of their other plans, but with the deep sadness expressed by the OP, this might be a way to help overcome the issue.)
It just seems like the OP was so upset...
that any possible option(s) might offer some hope.
3. If this were LAST week, I'd say that would be a big concern.
But, THIS week, (and, into next week) it may likely be less of an issue.

Are you staying onsite? If so - I would go down to the desk (not call) and explain your plight and see what they recommend

Too much this-and-that.

The right answer: Sorry, it's a kick in the teeth, but don't let it ruin your trip. One ride, no matter how new and special, does not a vacation make. You'll get a spot next time. Again, sorry.

OP, CONGRATULATIONS on ur upcoming marriage!!!!
lucky you to be headed to Disney for ur honeymoon!
One ride will not break ur entire Visit... that’s within Ur control ... so while ur disappointed
( sorry:( ... try n get those tears dried up and perhaps try to change things up to Maybe... get ur ride in (Xtra day/s added or hopper?)

OR just go, knowing u married ur Soulmate, ur at DISNEY!!!!! and have a Blast making some Amazing Memories sending Pixie dust ur way.

I'd like to hear back from the OP since this trip will be over this Wednesday.
