I’ve been waiting 4 1/2 years to go to Disney..a May 2-9 2010 PTR...TR started!

I've got a lot of things I want to get done around the house before we go, not to mention I really need to get the pool ready - it was 83 today, the boys are going to be ready to swim soon :eek: I still have shopping to do and my packing list to make as well, and mousekeeping envelopes. And, here I sit.......on the computer :rolleyes:

I'm sorry flying frightens you. I don't mind it much, I'm not a fan of take offs and landing, but the rest of it doesn't bother me. Stay brave, it will all be fine! :hug:

The take off is the worst part for me. Once we are in the air and settled I am usually ok unless we hit turbulence. I just hate taking off and then that part where the plane is getting situated in the sky. I always feel like we're going to head straight back down! :scared1: It's funny, I'm afraid of heights but I can ride rollercoasters no problem! It's planes, ferris wheels, elevators, bridges, etc...but I am doing ToT!! :rotfl:

I am terrified of flying also. In a big, big way. We are talking praying before we take off, praying as we take off, praying every time an air pocket is hit, praying as we land and praying Thanksgiving after we have landed. I also leave nail marks in the arm rests. When I travel with DH, I stay up all night and try to sleep on the plane, sometimes it works.

But, when I have to be awake and thinking I take two Aleve. They help. Takes the edge off of the fear, yet fully functional. Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor and make sure you can take Aleve before you do. :thumbsup2

Three more weeks!:banana::banana::banana:

I leave nail marks in the armrests, too! Or in the poor person who is sitting next to me! :lmao: I would take Dramamine but I don't want to be sleepy for our first day and it makes me tired. I may try the aleve though, thanks!

I read on the DIS somewhere that someone was able to with the tickets from the package. Did you call Disney and ask? The worst thing that could happen is they'll say no.
About flying-- I used to be the same way but I keep the window shut and listen to music or something to keep my mind away from the fact that I'm flying and you'll be landing in Orlando before you know it.

I definitely can't sit by the window! That makes it worse. I may have to call Disney and ask about that. I don't know so since we are already paid in full. I guess it can't hurt to ask! :confused3

well I'm finally caught up, love it!! So excited for YOUR trip (oh yeah, and mine too LOL)

That patchwork skirt is ADORABLE. I love the Tiana one too. I wanted to get one before we left, but I just got my DD3 a T-shirt instead. Tiana is her absolute FAVORITE so that is in our top 5 for MK.

Boy, if you ever have a yard sale with these adorable outfits...!! :rotfl:

I did buy a Mickey head dress from Etsy, it's pretty. I wanted to get another one before we left but I ran out of time. They have some cute stuff, and since I have zero sewing ability...well! Your daughter will be ADORABLE!!

We did GAD GAD also, i did a Facebook campaign and my DH and DD went to the Dental Theater on Laclede's Landing and volunteered. We are using them on Friday night to see some fireworks and maybe get a few rides in at DHS.

I need to take a pic of our countdown too, we did the same Home Depot Mickey heads, and I put trading pins underneath each day! My kids LOVE the pin trading!

Thank you! I have been teaching myself to sew since December. I am kind of learning as I go! Luckily there are tons of tutorials on YouTube and I would highly recommend CarlaC's patterns on YouCanMakeThis.com. They are perfect for beginners!

That is a great idea with the pins! I don't think we are going to attempt them this time around. Maybe next time!

Yeah for the 3 week dance!!:banana::banana: Sorry it's late and I missed it but I didn't want to forget!! Bella's AK outfit is so cute Kayce and I LOVE the suitcase!! I want one for myself! The Easter pics were cute too LOVED Bella's dress!

I have anxiety about flying too, not too bad but enough that I have been thinking about it and thinking about my babies flying! My DH flies overseas a lot and thinks flying to Florida is such a piece of cake. I hope to be totally distracted while at the airport and boarding, I know it's fine, I just need to remind myself that a lot!!

Thanks! I'm not afraid enough to let it stop me from going, of course, but it's just another anxiety on my mind. Hopefully that day I will be too excited to care! :goodvibes

I don't have any fear of flying, just that I won't be able to keep my stomach where it belongs. :lmao: I actually prefer to fly over driving.

I prefer it because driving just takes too long. But I hate the whole process of flying! It doesn't make me sick, just VERY nervous.

3 weeks!!!!! I'm a total green eyed monster right now!

Wanna come in my suitcase? :lmao:

Hey! Kayce
I had read your post late last night and did not realize I missed a post:

I love the outfit you made for AK! she is going to be adorable!!
I love the Easter pic of her by the tree and the one with the face...

as for flying; boy, I wish we were flying...I hate riding in the rain! So, I am praying for no rain the entire time! including the days we drive...I am also very anxious traveling with other cars at such a high speed (only got like that after Ashton was born)...

AND; just keep remembering how quick you will be at Disney; compared to if you were :driving:
you and Bella are going to do great!!!!

Thanks! I think Bella will do just fine, but it's me I'm worried about! :laughing: Yes, the three vs. eighteen hours is a bonus for sure. I will pray for sun for you...for driving and Disney! You are SOOO close now!

Awww i missed the 3 week dance :sad1:...it's ok...I'll dance for 2 weeks and 5 days!!

:cool1:
:banana::banana:
:yay::yay::yay:
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

The 2 week 5 day dance is even better than the 3 week dance IMO!!! I'm sure you are partying like crazy with yours being right around the corner!:dance3:

I can't believe you've only been sewing since December! You've really picked it up quick!

Hi! I love your trip report... and your dd is SO cute! We will be there at the same time as well! In fact, we have ressies at Chef Mickeys at the same time you do.How funny is that?? Those dresses you made are cute. Dont you just love the Carla C patterns? I am making my dds a bunch of dresses too. Anyhow.. If you see a stressed out looking mom with a bored 8yo ds, a scared 5yo dd, and crazed fighting 1yo twins.. Thats me!:lmao: My husband and my mom will be there too, but they will most likely be trying to hide from the kids.:rotfl2:

Thank you! I appreciate that. I am kind of a perfectionist when it comes to crafty stuff. :rolleyes1

Welcome! Wow you do have your hands full! I am sure we will bump into each other at some point. Have you heard about the DIS-meet on the fifth? I LOVE :lovestruc CarlaC. I would love to see pics of the dresses you have made!!!

Now you girls have me curious. I am going to have to look up CarlaC patterns, and take up sewing. I seriously am going to start sewing after seeing all the cute stuff you have made! I just don't know where to even start.

I do have my hands full! But I love it. I did hear about the meet.. but we are going to Seaworld that day! I have pictures of the Minnie dresses my girls are going to wear to CHef Mickeys our first night

They are on You can make this.com.... They have the CUTEST patterns! And so much easier then commercial patterns, I think. I am a new sewer as well, and I just have a super cheap sewing machine. But I can whip out a simply sweet in one evening.

My older dd is wearing a shirred top, and twirl skirt.. the baby is wearing a simply sweet..

What I did was go and buy a sewing machine (I got mine at Wal-Mart the day after Thanksgiving for 50$), get some REALLY cheap fabric, and just start playing. Then I moved to a pillowcase dress, but I would actually recommend a Simply Sweet or Easy Fits before a pillowcase. In Carla's patterns, she teaches you the basics of sewing as you go. I would learn to use your machine on scrap fabric first, then use cheap stuff for your first projects to test them out. It's fun but super addicting! :thumbsup2

Very cute! Where did you get the pattern for the shirred top? I will look for your cuties at CM's (three Sundays from now :woohoo).

Just wanted to say hello! I found your trip report and I love it. I am also inspired by your great sewing! I am traveling with my family (husband, 3 children - 7,4 and 1 and my parents) the first week of May. I can't believe how close it is. I am excited but now I feel like there is so much to do!

BTW, I HATE flying and I just flew this past weekend for the first time in a while. It was very easy. I think the anticipation is much worse so try not to think about it.

Good luck with your preparations. Thanks for your posts!

Aack! You just reminded me - mousekeeping envelopes! Just one more thing to add to the list of "to-do" for the trip. I feel like I keep running to Target for more things that I forget. Luckily we are renting a car this trip so I don't have to stress about water and snacks this time around.

We're getting so close! Are you psyched?!:banana::yay:

You'll do fine with the flying thing. And it's getting really close now...:banana:

Alright, that does it. I am definitely going to have to go and get a sewing machine now. I can't believe you made that simply sweet in one evening. Those dresses are sooooo cute!!Glad to know that I don't have to go and get some super expensive sewing machine. Thanks for the website as well!!

I am so glad you gave me these tips. Good to know!! I am so inspired by you!!

Thank you!!I bought this bundle pack. Its not quite as well done as a Carla C pattern, just a little harder to understand. But still fairly easy, and SOOOOOOO cute!!

I really like that bundle pack! Maybe I will try one of those in the near future...havent tried shirring yet and it makes me a little nervous!

I'm glad you had a good flight! Thanks for joining in. Another first week of May-er! It is so exciting! Make sure you say hello if we run into each other and come to the DIS meet if you can! :cool1:

I am more than psyched! Every day that goes by I get more and more excited. I am having to hold myself back from getting the suitcases out now! I need to get envelopes, too, but I don't think I am going to decorate them or make them fancy. I figure what they really care about is the cash, KWIM? :rotfl:

You'll do fine with the flying thing. And it's getting really close now...:banana:

YAY!!! We will be there before we know it! :dance3:

I am so glad you gave me these tips. Good to know!! I am so inspired by you!!

I'm glad I could give you something new to spend all your money and extra time on! :lmao: When you start neglecting housework to sew, cut material, and run to Joann/Hobby Lobby/Michael's all the time, you can place the full blame on me! :rotfl2: No seriously, it is a lot of fun and you will be amazed by what you can do. If you need any help or have questions PM me. I am by no means an expert but I just figured the basics out so I may be able to help you get started. Your little Princess will be all decked out! :cutie:

Hey Kayce....you have put into words my exact thoughts. I am so excited for this trip, but on the same trip I wish I had more time to get ready for it! As I also sit here on the computer!:rotfl:

Don't worry about the flying...you will be so focussed on your daughter and the excitement of the trip, you won't even have time to get worried!;)

Hi Kayce! Sorry for being MIA! Your trip is getting so close now. :goodvibes Love all the cute stuff you've made for Bella. I haven't completed any of my projects yet but I hope to this weekend. ;) I have all the things I need and just need to sit down and make it happen.

BTW, I'm not a fan of flying either. It's just anxiety and I refuse to let the girls see it but inside my heart races the entire time I'm on a plane. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Its really easy... Just time consuming. I dont like how she said to ruffle though. She uses elastic thread for it, and I prefer using dental floss. It just slides so much easier! I finally finished my oldest DDs princess dress. I made it out of the simply sweet halter top.. then I did a double layer skirt, and sinched it up like Belles. It took FOREVER!! And I broke two needles on my sewing machine doing it. But it turned out super cute! I might add a butt bow to it.
