I currently have a trip booked that is within the 7 month window that I have used current use year points, borrowed points, and one time use points to book. A reservation popped up for the same dates that I would really like but need xxxx more points. If I had the points transferred to me would I be able to cancel the current reservation and use all the different type of points to book the new reservation?

Yes, as long as the transferred points work for the dates you want.

Transferred points keep all their some rules.

Hopefully you won’t need to cancel the current reservation but could instead Modify it and just add in the transferred points to cover the difference. You could ask MS to do it at the end of the phone call giving you the transferred points, after the other owner hangs up.

The problem I see is that by the time you agree the transfer, call MS and try to book, availability might be gone. Actually, it might go in between the time you cancel the one you have and you're ready to book the new one. And then a WL might snag your reservation and you'd end with nothing.

Thank you everyone! The resort is still available today but I doubt it last much longer but the info is great to have just in case
