Hypothetical Question - using points you just bought

Only wondering.....hoping some one could answer this question.

If we bought a resale contract for SSR or BLT on July 1st 2010, lets say it was a
"stacked" contract with points for that current year use ( lets use December as a use year for this example) and i wanted to travel in August that year, could i get a reservation at one of those resorts?
I guess what i am trying to ask is - Is it possible to get a reservation within a month?
i am only asking, because i was thinking about taking my DD on a graduation trip, but i do not want to make a ressie ( pay $$) if i am going to buy into DVC anyway. I hope i am not confusing anyone, i would take her on a girls only weekend trip before she heads off to College

Is it possible to get a reservation with in a month? Sure. But of course it will be based on availability at that point just like at any other point in the process. At the 1 month mark you face a couple of challenges, like some rooms may be released from DVC for CRO to book and if you book and then have to cacncel points would go into holding. Well with all this being said it is possible to get what you want but consider booking the stay with CRO and if DVC comes through cancell your CRO reservation.

For late August avoiding the holiday you have a good chance of success in this situation but not for many times of the year on such short notice.
