Hypoallergenic detergent and/or body wash recommendations?

I have some chemical sensitivities to personal care products. For instance, I can only use one or two brands of deodorant and only a couple brands of toothpaste. If I use traditional products I develop an itchy rash where the product is applied. Of course, these products are quite expensive because they can only be purchased from a Whole Foods type "natural" store.

I have developed an itchiness on my torso in recent months. It's not quite a rash but my skin is slightly itchy and sensitive. I blame it on my detergent and/or body wash so I know I need to change both of them. I have been trying to find a good combination of laundry detergent and body wash but I continue to have the skin irritation. I am currently using All Free and Clear and Whole Foods Lavender Body Wash.

Can someone recommend a really good hypoallergenic brand for both laundry detergent and body wash? At this point, price isn't an object. I am used to spending $5 for deodorant and $7 toothpaste . PS: I also use a really basic oatmeal bar soap from our local Farmer's market which seems to work OK, but I prefer a liquid soap for the shower.

They told DS13 to use Dove Body wash because of his skin sensitivty and eczema.

We use Tide and that works.

But he may not be as senstive as what you are describing

For the laundry detergent, you might try Dreft. It's designed for babies so it's VERY mild.. my daughter has skin issues and once we switched back to Dreft, they got better. For the body wash, I use a Johnson and Johnson wash for sensitive skin, but I can't think of the name right now and the baby is asleep in my lap and I don't want to wake her!

DD and I have excema so I have dealt with this forever. For detergent, I use All Free and Clear and Downy Free and Sensitive.

DD used to use the Dove Sensitive body wash but they have changed the formula so the last brand new bottle I bought her caused intense itching. She is now back to baby body wash. We also use Cetaphil facial cleaner and moisterizer.

It can be a challenge, especially when formulas are changed but there are good products out there that won't irritate.
