Hyperspace Mountain is new and improved (+park pics)!

On most Sundays, the park opens at 8:00. Typically, I arrive around 7:05 or thereabouts. Then I walk as fast as I can to the rope (gates usually open at 7:40). At 8:00 when the rope drops, I walk quickly to PP. Regularly, someone will run. I try a few things to not allow them to pass me (I consider it cheating when I've been waiting for an hour and then someone tries to jump ahead of me in the last few seconds to be first in line for PP). I'll either speed up (I can usually hear them running up behind me) and/or try to block them.

There've been many times when someone tries to dart in front of me within a few feet of the line entrance. I'll either block them or speed up. That's really not a cool move on their part. There was a time about four months ago when a fully-grown man sprinted the entire way to PP from the rope drop. CMs will ask guests before and after RD not to run but there are almost always a few that will anyway. Other than asking, I don't think CMs are empowered to do much to stop them. Again, that's not very cool. A few CMs have told me that they see guests fall about once a week just as they take off running. Maybe that's why they're asked not to run...?

Do you think there is any chance we can make it onto PP without waiting long with having to bring strollers- we can "walk with zest" with strollers, but we do need to drop them at some point and get the toddlers out

This is our struggle. My tip for Peter Pan is if you can be On The Ride in 10 to 15 minutes after park ooening you're good. If the wait is longer try another time. This is because EVERYTHING else in Fantasyland, including Dumbo, is a walk on. You can wait 40 minutes for Peter Pan at any time during the day, no need to waste precious morning time doing so. I see so many guests waiting in a long line first thing in the morning and I shake my head. It's a waste of time. The wait time gets high fast, but is pretty consistent throughout the day. The carousel plus Pinocchio and Snow White are the easiest to ride, so save those for last in Fantasyland.

It’s the most popular ride in FL and the line gets very long, very quickly. I always say “Ride it at rope drop or not at all.” ...

If you ever stay late, try making PP your last ride of the night. Get in line about 10 minutes before closing, enjoy a snack and the lovely lights in FL while in line, then exit to a closed park. Walking down Main Street after closing and saying "good night" to the park is a magical experience!

I met two women at the park about two months ago who each had a stroller (they were together). They had a similar question. I suggested that one take both strollers and park them (only takes an additional minute or so) while the other secures their place in line. That, to me, sounds like your best bet.

Agree that this is probably fine if only one person stays behind to park the strollers. But since this will be a large group (two families with two strollers), I wouldn't have more than one person stay to park the strollers. It can get tricky having people catch up to join you in line at any time, but especially at PP. It never hurts to let the people behind you in line know that one other person will be catching up to you later.

A few pics from the park today. I was among the first in and was also the first on PP (some of you may be getting tired of hearing that ;-)). Did well on Buzz today, as can be seen below. Enjoy the pics!

Awesome pictures! And thanks for the update on HSM!
(I still sometimes have to remind myself that doesn't mean High School Musical even when I type it.)

You do need to park the stroller before getting inline. I was usually the stroller pusher, and walked very quickly. I would have the kid unbuckle and once through the castle have them hop out (basically a tuck & roll!) and grab dad's hand, I quickly park to the right, and hop in line. My family is usually a few people in front of me. Most of the time people are kind enough to let me hop ahead of them to catch up to the family. If not I just have the kid I'm riding with move to where I am in line.

40 mins is not bad compared to the line for PP in WDW. Is there no MP for PP

No your only option for DL's PP is standby

There is one exception. Often times I'll strike up a conversation with a CM, just to be friendly, not because I expect to be given anything. At least four times in the past, they've then given me a pass that was valid for any ride. It allowed me to enter through the exit and to bring up to five additional guests. The last time this happened, I found a deserving family -- one that was eyeing the PP line skeptically because they weren't sure that they wanted to wait 40 minutes. I brought them along with another nice couple I'd met. I've said it many times before: it pays to be nice.

I saw the "bats" as well, about a hundred of them were clustered in the area between TL and the castle. I think it was picture time. I did read on their site that this is their last Bats Day :(

This is so sad. I always enjoy seeing their outfits. I wonder why?
