Anyone have any idea when Hyperspace is ending? It appears on Disneyland.com that it will be continuing at least the next 6 weeks. I’m wondering if there will be any time that Rise of the Resistance and Hyperspace Mountain will be open. I want to do both but can probably only afford 1 trip in the near future.

My personal opinion, which is not based in any factual information whatsoever, so that they'll probably leave it until after may 4 next year. Since they've said they aren't changing it for Halloween, it'd make sense to leave it until Rise of the Resitance, and at that point, it doesn't make sense to take it down just to put up again for May 4.

But again, I'm not basing that on anything I've heard from anyone connected with DL at all.

Rise of the Resistance isn’t supposed to open at Disneyland until January. I assume Hyperspace mountain will still be going.

Given how quickly they can transition from HyperSpace to regular Space (and vice-a-versa), I wonder if they're kind of playing this one by ear based on popularity.

I hope it stays up off and on forever. I like Hyperspace Mountain so much more than the original!

I read recently that after Thanksgiving they'll change it to a Christmas-themed ride called Space Countin' (Down the Days). The ride will begin at the North Pole and you'll race Santa Claus. You have to try to make it around the world by Christmas morning. JK ;-).
You got me until you mentioned the North Pole 😂😂😂

You never cease to amaze me! I like the way your mind works.

I believed this until the "JK" 😝

Selfishly, I like the theory that it stays up until May 4. I know it's different, but I hated Space Mountain at WDW so much, I don't think I can get on "regular" Space Mountain. I could probably talk myself into Hyperspace Mountain though... probably....

Thank you! I hope to be called to tell a story at The Moth tonight so hopefully other people think so too :-). The Moth is a nationwide storytelling event with a great Podcast and syndicated radio show. They do them in about 60 cities now. Ten people are chosen at random (out of about 30 but that varies each night) and then are scored by three judging teams. You have five minutes to get up on stage and tell a true story that's on the night's theme. Tonight it's "Cars." If called, I'll tell the story of how I went joyriding in a Lamborghini with two on-duty police officers in Chicago who both coaxed me to "Go as fast as you want." So I did ;-).

I hope they never change it! Hyperspace Mountain is awesome! May the Force be with You!

I have NEVER gotten a chance to ride it! Can't wait until next week!! We have done a number of September/October trips and it has always been Ghost Galaxy, and with younger kids, not my favorite. My son rode it 3 time last year, with his eyes closed every time! When we were there this past February, it was regular SM (which is awesome), so this will be a first!

Just added it to my Podcast list to check out! Thanks!

Well, I certainly hope they keep it. I’ve been on all 3 versions that have been open in the last few years. Ghost Galaxy was ok but not that great. Regular space mountain is amazing but I’ve been on it soooo many times and I like Hyperspace Mountain better, which has been open on 2 very short trips. Some people might think it’s weird for there to be 2 Star Wars rides in Galaxy’s Edge and 2 in Tomorrowland (the other being Star Tours) if Hyperspace is still open in January but I really don’t mind it.

Nice work! It’s a blast and you’ll hear many amazing — and true — stories. It’s been going on for more than 20 years. I’ve told stories at The Moth eight or nine times. :-). Because of how many people sign up, you don’t always get called.

That sounds really fun. I hope that you are chosen.
