Has an end date for the HyperSpace Mountain (Star Wars overlay on Space Mountain) been announced? We have a chance to go in early June and that's a deciding factor.

Thanks!

No. I expect there will be about 2-3 weeks notice, which is what they gave for Superhero HQ.

We will be there in early June too and my family is hoping that it doesn't change either.

DS is hoping it will end before our trip in January. He loves the original, his favorite ride. He will be thrilled to hear it is a temporary thing. He was not impressed with the Utube videos of the changes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it up until Ghost Galaxy takes over. I hope it will come back in November. We really *loved* the Hyperspace overlay! The John Williams soundtrack with that ride is one of the best pairings of music + ride in the park!

It's very popular, so my guess is that it will last until Halloween season. Whether it returns after Halloween is anyone's guess, but it was supposed to be temporary. I would like to ride it though, so if they stretched it out for another year I wouldn't mind...

I was kind of bummed about the overlay at first because I'm not a SW fan, but now I'm looking forward to checking it out. It might be fun!

I'm totally not a SW fan either, but I'll admit I loved it! It just adds a little "something extra" to the rode, in my opinion.

You don't have to be a SW fan to appreciate the theme that you're caught in the middle of a battle. If you've seen the movies you'll have a little more background, but it's still a great ride even if you've never seen the movies.

I love Star Wars, which you've probably guessed from my name/ avatar. And I love Hyperspace Mountain. It's awesome. But, I honestly am looking forward to the return of regular Space Mountain. It's my favorite version of the ride. I know it's not as visually entertaining, but I love the music/ sounds.

For those of who have ridden all three, how would you rank the original ride, Hyperspace Mountain and Ghost Galaxy? We are going in October and I was hoping HSM would still be up, but I've been told to expect GG.

I'd rank:

1. Hyperspace Mountain
2. Ghost Galaxy
3. Original

Although i have no complaints about the original, Hyperspace is exciting and even more enjoyable when you're a Star Wars fan. GG always gets my adrenaline going. The sound effects and element of surprise may give you a good, fun scare.

I would rank them:
1. HyperSpace Mountain
2. Original
3. Ghost Galaxy

All three versions use the same track, so the attraction itself is the same. The only differences are in the soundtrack and added effects (e.g., screen projections, lasers, etc.). I like that HSM adds a story to the ride. I'm not a big fan of Ghost Galaxy because the effects don't really seem to be telling a story. Also, I feel like GG is not as well timed for the whole car...if you're seated in the back, you miss out on a lot of the screen projections because they're timed to the front of the vehicle.

So for me, I'd ride HSM several times a day; I'd ride the original once per day; and I'd ride GG once per trip.

The original is still a great ride, I'd rank that first. I'd put GG and HSM about equal. GG is a less intrusive overlay, you're still riding SM, but with additions. The timing issues for the projections are the same on both. On HSM you don't miss out on the GG hand from the back, but you still sort of catch everything as it moves off the screen. I really like the beginning of HSM where you round the corner, the familiar music starts, you go up the hill... But then for the rest of the ride it's just blaster sounds. Blaster, blaster, blaster screeching at you while every ship that's ever been in a battle in a Star Wars movie shoots constantly at nothing in particular. There is one cool timed TIE fighter projection, but that's it. Actually, a really cool thing that they did years ago was the RHCP soundtrack. It was just changing the song, but it was SM, just with a temporary soundtrack change. HSM could be better if they injected more of the SW theme music into the actual ride portion and less of just noise like they have now.

Personally, I would rate them:

1. Hyperspace
2. Old original
3. New original / Ghost Galaxy

I think they are all fun, though.
