Instead of packing multiple bottles of water in your daybag (or buying expensive drinks from Disney)...

Take sport bottles and Crystal Light. Ice water is FREE in the parks, and easy to get at "walk-up" restaurants like Sunshine Tree Terrace. Or tap water from the drinking fountains or bathrooms. (it's the same tap water whether from restaurants or bathrooms----just colder from the restaurants)

But Orlando tap water has an off taste, so take your favorite Crystal Light flavor.

The water at restaurants is filtered. Some of the water fountains are filtered. The water in the bathrooms is never filtered.

I think I would skip the bathrooms. People that have just used the restroom are putting their hands on and under the faucet. They say the screens on those and some kitchen faucets have more bacteria and "bathroom germs" then a toilet seat. Gross! I wash my hands and then use a little hand sanitizer in public washrooms. At home I soak my faucet heads and screens in vinegar and then run them through the dishwasher about once a month. OK, my husband does call me "Monica" quite a bit.

For those that have them, my DH and I wore our camelBaks at the park. Filled up with ice water at the hotel before we left in the morning and had nice cold water to drink all day anytime we wanted.

We used Crystal Light packets for the first time on this trip, in addition to our usual Gatorade/G2/Propel powder packets.

We use the personal Brita filtered water bottles, it helps get rid of the bad taste of the water. And there are plenty of water fountains all over the parks.

I don't want to drink Orlando water, nor do I want the ingredients of Crystal Light, etc. I also don't like waiting in line at restaurants to get small cups of water.

So we are happy to take our cold bottled spring water in our Igloo MaxCold backpack, and as the day goes on drink our tasty water and make the backpack get lighter! :)

We actually had pretty good luck with the free cups of water. Only once (at Yak & Yeti in AK) were we given those small (children's drink size) cups of water. Everywhere else we were given regular or large sized soda cups. Theyd also give us as many as we requested.

I'm also used to very good quality water, and only once did the free water taste "off" (I can't remember where it was - I think at one of the CS in MK). Everywhere else was fine.

I could not agree with you more! We do the same thing!

this is not new information

Not sure what I'll do this time around, might just buy a bottle there with less to carry around.

The only place that the CS water tastes swampy is in MK. (And the Poly) At all the other parks, ot tastes perfectly normal.
No need to add flavoring.

Yes, exactly. Restaurant water and water from any pop machine is always filtered, and cold. Drinking fountains are always warm and gross. :crazy2: I'll stick to QS water...even if the cups are small, i ask for two for myself.

I'd rather drink the swampy tap water than the chemicals in Crystal Light. ;)

We used Brita filter bottles and the water tasted just as good as NYC tap water. The water at CBR was a little funky when we brushed our teeth, but it was fine through the Brita filter.

If some of you witnessed what other guests do in water fountains, I can guarantee you wouldn't drink a drop from one again.

Here's something new, then -- consider trying a Murphy drip. It wouldn't be hard to rig up using a CamelBak™ 2-liter pack...

Awesome. Maybe he/she will take you up on that. You may want to patent that in case it becomes the next big thing.
