Will be in WDW for our first trip the first week in August. Are hydration backpacks popular? I was thinking since it will be extremely hot and humid, the hydration backpack would be a great idea. What do people think? Thanks

Here is a link to a thread which mentions them.

We are just going to bring water bottles and refill them often, but then we arn't going in august.

Have fun!

I swear by mine! I usually end up dehydrated when I don't use it. Using one helps to remind me to drink constantly and as it is right there on your back, no bending or reaching for a water bottle it is very convenient. I use a Camelback backpack which also has room in it for all my other stuff. I did find that mine leaked a bit but I just pad the bottom by the hose with a small washcloth and put the water bottle in a plastic bag. this seemed to solve the problem nicely. Another nice feature is the fact that you can put ice in the bottle so the water stays really really cold.

Give it a try!

It is a backpack that has a large "bladder" that you fill with water. From the bladder a tube winds up through one of the straps that has a slit in it. From there you bite down on the valve, suck like a straw and voila.....cold water! I have found myself in much better shape on hot days at WDW using one. It makes staying hydrated so much easier.

We have 6 of them. Four backpacks and two fanny packs. They are great at Disney. We have the bladders that have very wide opening and we fill them with ice and water which keeps them cool all day. You can also put other stuff in the backpack type. We love them.
