Hyatt Regency Questions

We plan to stay the night prior to our Disney cruise and utilizing Disney transfers to the port. Will bell services take your luggage to the Disney bus? As anyone ever had a late flight going home and utilized a dayroom at the Hyatt?

In terms of the question about day use rooms, did you have a specific query? We recently were planning on doing a day use room (had it booked and everything) but then our flight changed and we cancelled it. But it seems pretty straightforward. Book it, check in, chill in the room or swim.

We stayed at the Hyatt before our cruise in March. If I remember correctly, we were instructed to leave our suitcases right inside the hotel room door with the Disney tags on the morning of the cruise to have them transferred to the bus. I think they wanted them ready to go by 8?

You have to make sure DCL knows that you have booked transfers from the Hyatt to the Port. Hyatt has a list of DCL cruisers
and they will only pick up luggage for cruisers on the list from Disney.

Due to my OCD, we took our luggage down to the podium at the hotel where you check in for getting transported to the port. They took the luggage from there to the bus. I don’t want to maybe have our luggage missed being picked up in our room. But that’s just me 🤪

Nope I'm the same way. If I bring it I know it's going to get on the bus for sure! lol

We're going to do this in about three weeks for our cruise. I'm curious, did you need a luggage cart, and if so, was it easy to get one?

I don't remember the Hyatt having luggage carts, but I guess you could pick one up at arrivals and bring it to the room.

No, we didn’t need a luggage cart. Just my DH and I and we only had 2 suitcases and a small satchel. After years of travel I’ve learned to only pack exactly what we need.

Along the same lines, I have a question. I have booked ground transfers for my upcoming cruise, but I’m a little unclear on how this is linked to when/where my group will be picked up. I thought it would be covered during online check-in but it wasn’t. We’re arriving the day before our cruise and staying at the Hyatt Regency. And I still can’t figure out the details of catching the bus. How does this work?

When you check in, confirm with the front desk and they will tell you what time luggage pickup is. Or, in the morning, just grab your own bags and take them down and get on the bus. This is what we will do this time. I was freaking out leaving our luggage in the room last time. I didn't want it left behind! I waited until they came and picked it up and then we went down to the bus, but I understand departure time is later these days for the "official" Hyatt reservations and we'd rather just go.

Thanks for the response. But does Disney need to know the details of where we’ll be departing from? Or is the fact that I have booked the transfer enough and the Hyatt will take it from the point I check in?

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. If you booked DCL transfers from the Hyatt (or MCO, either way works) you just get on that bus in the morning of the cruise. You don't select a PAT. When you do online check-in, it will ask you for your air travel information for the day before. You just put that in.

We booked a transfer. Full stop. There’s been no information provided on how/where to board the bus. Disney doesn’t know where we’re staying, although they do have the flight info, which we provided at check-in. But I don’t have any other instructions on what comes next, only that the transfer was “added” to the reservation.

If you booked transfer you either take it from Hyatt at MCO or you take it from MCO. The disney bus doesn’t pick up at any other hotels in Orlando unless they are disney hotels in disney property.

The Hyatt should give you guidance on this, but here is the experience as I understand it:

At the airport, in the Ground Transportation area, there is a place for DCL buses. There should be signs pointing you that way, and you can ask any airport employee, and they should be able to direct you to the right place. When you get there, there will be a desk/podium. You give them your name, let them know you've booked a transfer, and you should be good to go. Bring your cruise documents and have them ready in case they ask for them. (Maybe someone who has done this recently can confirm that they are needed?)

For anyone doing this it was over $100 cheaper booking the Hyatt MCO through Disney instead of going directly through Hyatt.

The Hyatt MCO does have pick-up directly from their lobby. Guests who book DCL Transfers and want to take it from the lobby must contact DCL to get on their list. Otherwise, they are welcome to take their luggage down to the main DCL Transfers point at MCO.
