The Hyatt on Wacker Drive is very nice and close to Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue shopping and many restaurants and pubs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. :thumbsup2

I stayed there two weeks ago, and the rooms are nice. I was able to get a room off Priceline for something like $53 a night! We were very high up and had a view of the river and a piece of the lake.

It was an easy walk to Michigan Avenue to shop and to the Navy Pier. We ended up taking the bus down to Shedd Aquarium, and the bus stop is just a couple blocks west of the hotel.

Check in is in the east tower on the second floor. Parking is $49!!! a night, with in-and-out privileges. We weren't planning on using the car while we were there, so we parked down in the Millenium Garage for $29 each 24 hour period. It's 4 blocks or so south, the entrance is in the middle of Michigan Avenue. The valet let us park our car in front of the east tower long enough to check in and get the bags to the room, and the reverse when we checked out.

Internet is extra in the room, but they have computers and wireless down in the lobby. We didn't use it, so I don't know the speed or anything.

I bought transit tickets from the cta online, that gave us unlimited travel on the El and on the buses for $5.75 (iirc) for 24 hours from first use of the ticket. They have 3 and 5 day tickets also. You can also buy the transit tickets from the Currency Exchange or at Dominick's supermarket. There's a Currency Exchange not far away. The concierge can direct you.

Have fun!

Thank you i am excited to go to Chicago my family are visiting from Europe & chose this city to take a short visit while here in the States.Iget to be tour guide. Any place we should not miss.thanks again:cool1::cool1::cool1:

The only minus to the Hyatt Regency in Chicago is that it does not have a pool. So, if your family really wants to swim you will want to choose a different hotel.

You may want to try the Embassy Suites...its 1 block off of Michigan ave and right in the middle of everything. The rooms are great and are like a small apartment(living room(I think it has a pullout) & bedroom, fridge, extra sink). Way more room than a regular hotel room. I believe the also have a pool. They also have free breakfast in the morning downstairs in their resturant...and its good!

I just wanted to add that you may want to look booking from Priceline or Hotwire. Check out www.betterbidding.com for help on selecting a hotel on Hotwire or bidding on Priceline.

The Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers has a good sale right now.

So far I have not been disappointed when staying in a Hyatt. Although with kids I would want an indoor pool if possible.

We stayed there last July and had a great time! The room was fairly large (I think we must have gotten an upgrade), and it is minutes away from many fun things! Enjoy your trip!

I stayed there last summer and we had a wonderful trip. You'll be close to lots of great attractions and yummy restaurants!

I think I'm staying there this weekend. My husband has a convention at a Hyatt in Chicago. I'm not sure which one. I'll check with him when he gets home. If that's it I'll take some pics and write a little mini review for you when we get back.
