I just changed my hotel ressies to the Hyatt for the night before we sail. I read you leave your luggage out in the am but what time & where do you pick up the transfers to the ship? Do they usually go straight there or make the rounds of the hotels to pick up more people?

I have the same questions. Also, is there some secret Disney discount for the Hyatt? My hubby doesn't want to drag the luggage from airport to shuttle to hotel and then back again to catch the Disney transfers so staying at the Hyatt would be ideal, but it's so expensive!

Looks like we'll be able to head over on the transfers together!! Here is what DCL told me. (You should call them and tell them your flights.) When you check into the Hyatt, tell them you are a DCL passenger and they will give you a sheet with detailed instructions. I think it will tell you what time to leave your luggage outside the room. They told me generally you meet the CMs around 9 am for the transfers. I am sure someone who has done this before can give more details, but when I called DCL they said it would all be on the sheet they give me at the front desk. Hope that helps!

Were you able to change your flights as well?

Thanks for the info. Delta only made a minor revision to the flights so I probably won't make any changes. Direct is nice but we will get in by 6:30pm enough time to get some dinner and maybe take a dip in the pool. I am much happier I don't have to transfer out of the airport I wasn't looking forward to that!

When we did this last October we left our luggage in the hallway at 8:30am. I was uncomfortable with this and called the front desk and asked how safe it was. She said there are hallway cameras and that they've never had a problem. I went outside our room and yes, there are cameras.

As far as discounts for the Hyatt I just got 3 rooms for this coming October. One room I used a AAA discount ( my sister has AAA, so she gets that discount) The room is normally $239. With the discount it's $170. The other room I used a senior citizen discount ( mom is coming with us) and her room costs $140.

The third room (mine) I had to pay full price. And I'm not happy about that. But I will keep checking to see if there are any discounts the closer I get to October.

What CTFamilyCruisers was told is essentially correct. They have pre-printed instructions at the Hyatt desk, so just let them know that you're a DCL passenger and need to know how to meet the transfers the next day. They give you an envelope containing all the information you need.

Basically, they tell you to put the cruise line tags on your bags and leave them in the hallway outside your room by 8:00-8:30am (the time has varied from trip to trip). The bell staff collects the bags and hands them off to DCL, who load them on a truck bound for Port Canaveral. The next time you see them, they'll be delivered to your room on board.

The info will also tell you when to check in for the bus. This is usually around 9:00ish. There will be DCL reps in the Hyatt lobby, to the right as you get off the elevators. Once you check in, they'll let you know which bus you're on (Mickey, Minnie, etc.). There's a lounge area right near the check-in tables where you can hang out. The cast members will call your bus and lead you down to it. This usually begins at around 10:00am.

There are plenty of food options in the terminal for both dinner and breakfast, ranging from fast food to sit down. I don't recommend the breakfast buffet at the restaurant on the top floor of the Hyatt. It's really pricey and really pretty mediocre. We usually grab a bagel from the shop in the terminal and save room for all the food available once on board the ship.

So, you got to the port around 11? Would you get there much sooner if you did a towncar or would it really make that much of a difference?

As far as discounts, we don't have AAA or SENR so I guess we are pretty much stuck with Rack rate. Anyone ever got the Hyatt through Priceline or Hotwire?

Can you still us the luggage service at the Hyatt even if you are not using the DCL transfers? We prefer taking a town car to port but if we could get the luggage taken care of it would be much smoother.

Not anymore. It has been reported if you approach a DCL rep in the lobby, they will move your luggage for $25 per 6 pieces.

We used the DCL transfers from the Hyatt. We were instructed to leave our bags outside our stateroom by 8:30am. There was tons of luggage in the hallways, so you're won't be the only ones. You can start meeting DCL reps in the Hyatt lobby around 9AM, and the first bus usually leave the Hyatt around 9:30 or so. We were on the first bus and were at the port and checking in by 10:30.

If I were you I would sign up for AAA, it is only 35 a year and you will save far more than that on the room alone not to mention the other savings you get with the card.

You could also check the entertainment book the Hyatts are usually in there

Good Luck

When you got to the port by 10:30, were there tons of people already there?

I was planning on renting a car so that I can get to the port as it opens, to be among the first, but if the DCL bus gets there early from the Hyatt, I think I'd rather have the bus experience. It sounds exciting.

There were people there, but DCL usually doesn't open the port until about 10:30 anyway. We weren't first on line, but definately pretty close to the front of the line. We still were in the ropes by the time we got checked-in.

Which Hyatt are ya'll talking about? Is it the one in Orlando, the Grand Cypress? Do they charge extra if you leave your car there?

I'll be staying at the airport Hyatt.

Hi. I just want to clarify something.

If you are stayin at the MCO Hyatt, you can arrange for DCL to pick up your luggage even if you are having a limo/car service pick you up.

Instead of paying the full $49 per person, you pay $25 for six suitcases.

We got a rate for our trip this Oct for $174. It was the anniversary package. You get a great rate plus champagne and strawberries.

Do you pay the $25 dollars at the front desk when you check in or where and whom do you pay? Thanks.

Plus the breakfast buffet was free for AAA members in June. We thought it was a pretty decent buffet. The fact that it was free no doubt helped.... :)

I have reservations with FL Tours and called my TA today. She in turn called Disney regarding luggage transfers from the Hyatt MCO to the port. She was told that if you don't use Disney transportation, you cannot transfer your luggage to the buses. We sail in April. Can anyone verify or negate her information?

Thanks.
