Hyatt - night prior

One thing - if you're using DCL transfers the next morning to the ship, you must tell DCL that you are staying at the Hyatt and will require luggage transfers from room to luggage truck at MCO by 3 days prior to date of cruise.

Do I book direct through Hyatt or through DCL?
If you book via DCL you won't need a PAT. You can just take an early bus over & get an early boarding number, if you like to board early.

The MCO Hyatt is a very nice hotel with great customer service. Their luggage service to port is very convenient.

Have booked on my own and through DCL. Check both out and pick best rate. Also note pp info on new luggage policy if you want them to take your bags. We have always had a lovely stay there. Enjoy your cruise!

I recently had to book three rooms at the Hyatt. When I talked to the DCL CM on the phone, they said that the room had to be booked through them to use the service. I checked twice to be sure. I then contacted Shoreside Concierge and they told me it didn’t matter as long as I noted it on my reservation. Not sure how the new policy is applied by the Hyatt.

As for price, I didn’t get a better deal than the Hyatt Rewards Member price by going through DCL. Both arrived at the same price for the three individual nights.

For the luggage transfers -- make sure it is VERY clear that you need a transfer from the hotel following an overnight stay, not from the airport following a morning arrival. Our reservation reflected the latter instead of the former, and it was not possible to change. Now, it turned out this was not our fault (something went wrong between TA and hotel, I guess), and MCO helped out by sending a bellman to our room to get our bags and help us from there to the terminal, but it cost us a lot of time figuring out what had happened and how to fix it .

With 5 people, we need either a deluxe room, suite, or two standard rooms. DCL only has standard rooms (at least, that's all they would book me), and 2 standard rooms costs more than a deluxe room or suite, so we booked on our own. Hoping by next June things are running a lot more smoothly for the luggage service. I'll definitely be keeping my ears on the boards looking for reports and updates!

Just to clarify you don’t have to book the Hyatt through DCL to skip the PAT. That’s for anyone taking DCL transportation to the port regardless of where you stay the night before and how it was booked.

When they take the luggage from your room at the Hyatt, do you see them again at the port or not until they are delivered in your stateroom? Thank you!

You get them back at your stateroom. They travel in a truck, not under the same bus as you.

We arrived the night before the cruise and took our luggage to the room. The next morning it was picked up by porters and put on the truck to the Dream (with the luggage tags on). We saw bellmen with lists indicating room numbers @ 9:00 as the pick-up began. Perhaps the most helpful person was the cruise line concierge lady on the 4th floor (check-in). She made certain that the information got to all necessary parties. The stay was fine--breakfast was a little meh, it has been better in the past.
