This may have been asked a million times, but...
If you are staying at the Hyatt and use Disney Transfers, you are instructed to go to the Magical Express Welcome Center to check-in. Some info I have seen, states that you will then technically be "checked-in" for the cruise and don't need to wait in the long line to do so at PC. Right?
Is it really as simple as getting off of the bus and starting the boarding process?
TIA!

No. Once-upon-a-time passengers taking DCL transfers from MCO could do official check-in at the airport. But that is now all done at the port terminal. The only "check-in" at MCO is just to verify that you have paid for the DCL transfers. You will need to check-in at the port with your documents, take pictures, get your KTTW card, etc. At the end of that process you will receive your boarding number.

Enjoy your cruise!

One more thing... you may still need to pick a PAT (port arrival time). Some people have said they did not need it but my advice if when doing your online check in if it promos you to pick one you need one.

We stayed at the Hyatt Dec 30th and were able to get on the bus for 9am on the 31st. We thought we would be able to get on board the Dream early. Got to the Terminal at 10 but had to wait until 11:30 for boarding anyway.

That's because boarding doesn't begin until around 11:30.

We have always needed to picked a PAT with the DCL transfers.

Another one... What time do the buses return to MCO? Is a noon flight going to be cutting it close? DCL says 11:30 flights, but I'll have two kids with me, so anything close is going to be tight time wise.

Yes, most of the time that's true. BUT, sometimes (for whatever reason) people who've booked the Hyatt MCO through DCL and booked DCL transfers are not being required to select PATs. And sometimes (a little more rarely) WDW resort guest(who also booked their WDW stay through DCL) using DCL transfers have not been prompted to select a PAT.
