Going to fly the into MCO the day before our cruise and want to stay at the Hyatt. I can only find rates of $230. Can I find better?

I am glad you asked this question! We too, are flying in the day before but I am looking into the Sheaton because of the pool. I figure the kids can get a quick swim in sometime during the quick stay. The prices for our family of 6 range from $159-200. Anxious to see what everyone says!

We are traveling with DCL and I know ours is just under $170.00 mark. When are you traveling that might have some impact on the price?

Houzer :boat:

We are traveling Feb 26th. I know I can get better rates at other hotels that we have stayed at before but I just thought how convenient to be right there at the hotel. Saves alot of hassle.

Skybaby, any chance that one of your party is 65 or over? They had a half price senior citizen's rate last May when Mom was with us.

Let me second the convenience...especially if you're flying in later in the day.

Just in case you don't want to spend the $230 on the Hyatt, look for good rates at the Crowne Plaza. It is a short shuttle ride from MCO and it is a very nice, clean hotel. I think we paid $69 for it, through hotwire, but their web rates were pretty close to that, too.

At first we thought we got stuck with a hellhole hotel as we drove up at 10:00 at night...some of the lights were burned out in the sign that should have spelled "Crowne Plaza", but day light showed all the hurricane damage to the exterior (DUH)! It really is a good place to stay if the Hyatt is just out of price range!

Anyone know what the dayrates are like at the Hyatt?

And can you just walk up and do this or do you have to reserve in advance.

We can't decide what to do on our day we get off the cruise but have to wait until 6:00 pm to fly out.

Thanks,
DJ

We just booked the Crowne Plaza for a pre cruise stay for one night...I got $59.00 per room for two rooms thru priceline. Their webrates for the time we are going showed $129.00 per night. The is the first week in January '05

We did a walk up on both times we got a day room at the Hyatt. The rate is either $75 as said above maybe $79...I forget which.

Hello. I gambled and went on Priceline and got the Hyatt for $60.00 for a day in April. The going rate at the time was $189.00 so I think that was a good deal! Good Luck!

msbinky, do you remember how many stars where showing when you bid? Was it 3 star or 3.5? Just curious. I'm trying to decide .... thanks

msbinky (love the name-I had a cat named Binky, once.)

Can you tell me how you got the Hyatt for $60 through Priceline?

Just remember that Priceline does not guarantee the hotel you will get....it is as the other poster said...a gamble....if you really want to stay at the Hyatt then I would not suggest Priceline as you may not get that hotel.

If you are willing to take a chance of getting the Hyatt but would not mind getting another hotel in the area then go for it!!!

I have been lucky and unlucky with Priceline....but I always go in with the frame of mind of being satisfied with other hotels if the one I really want does not come through!!!

Good luck and definately checking out biddingfortravel to get some bidding strategies!!!

You're right, of course. I am already booked at the MCO Hyatt. Just looking for a cheaper way. Last year, I got the same hotel for $25 through Hotwire! Just a fluke, I know. It is time for me to let go. I got a good rate as it is-$155. I must sound so greedy-I'm not really-just, at times, a bit obsessive!

Thanks for the reality check! I needed it! LOL

You did not sound greedy at all!!! I just want anyone to know who is thinking about Priceline that you cannot pick the hotel you want....hey we all want to save money....

I have a rental car booked for January or our cruise and I keep checking the prices....it has gone down over $100.00 from when I first booked. I keep checking the website and putting in my dates and new codes I have found and the price gets better...I make a new ressie and then cancel the old ressie....have done this a few time over the last few months......luckily you can do this with car rentals....Priceline locks you in and no changes can be made.

Good luck....and again...you did not at all sound greedy!! Have a great trip!!

We (my mom (62) myself (32) and my son (2)) are staying at the Hyatt @ MCO on Feb. 26th before our Wonder Cruise. Since my mom is 62 we are getting a Senior Rate. The total for our room came to $123.00. Do you have any seniors with you to receive this discounted price? E-mail me if you have any questions dagjacob@yahoo.com
Are you going on the Feb 27th Wonder Cruise also???

I used the 3 star Orlando Airport option. I might have just got lucky by get the Hyatt because as the others said you can get another 3 star hotel in the Orlando airport area. But, I thought it was worth a shot. Good luck if you try it, just rememebr that you are charged automatically if your bid is accepted and they don't let you know what hotel until the bid is accepted.
