Has anyone ever stayed at the Hyatt Grand Cypress Resort? Would love to hear about it if you have...will be going in July.
Thanks!::earseek:

I've never stayed there personally but have done alot of questioning, several have said it has the best offsite pool area in town ( ahead of MOWC, Caribe Royale) for what that's worth.
You may want to check out tripadvisor.com as there are a number of reviews there.

They advertise their main pool as "1/2 acre". If that is literally true, it would be about 22000 sq ft, twice as large as the AKL pool, the largest single pool at a Disney resort. (I haven't stayed at the Hyatt either.)

I highly recommend the Hyatt Grand Cypress. My husband and I stay there at least twice a year. If you want to e-mail me. I will send you some pictures that I have of the resort.

Is that the same one that was on "Samantha Brown's Great Hotels" on the Travel Channel? If it is, it looks absolutely fantastic!
I'd love to stay there.

Yes it is. I love that show and that piece on the Hyatt was great.
We have stayed at HRGC in the past and it is just wonderful. That pool of theirs is spectacular--and always open! Underground grottoes, hidden hot tubs, just great. The restaurants are very good. We like the White Horse Saloon, the
prime rib is excellent. There is so much to do at this resort, you could actually forget that there are theme parks in Orlando!

& loved the hotel but felt that it was a little too nice for my 3 wild kids. The pool wasn't heated which made it freezing cold in Nov (of course my kids insisted on going in so my DH had to brave it out with them). We had free nights there & so split our stay with WL. I thought that the restaurants would have been great if it were just DH & me. Very pricey & seemed to be mostly adults!!! Very different experience than onsite at Disney. Probably wouldn't stay there again with kids unless they were older & if it were during warm summer months were heating the pool wasn't an issue.

I LOVE this hotel! Probably my overall best Orlando/Disney Area hotel experience ever.....champagne at check-in, huge (seriously huge) pool with pool bar, fantastic concierge level w/ the most personalized, warm service, gorgeous rooms and great views. I would stay there all the time if I could (money kinda keeps me away from it though!)

And did I mention the pool was huge? There was (at least 2 years ago) and adult pool section too....

My husband and I stayed there this past weekend and loved it!! The rooms were beautiful, the grounds lovely and the pool was everything you have read about and more. The service and the staff were very friendly. We were in town for a convention so our children were not with us but they would have had a great time here. We almost felt bad for leaving them at home witha sitter. (almost!!). We did not dine at any of the restaurants, they looked very nice though. There is a food court type/ deli, where we got drinks and snacks which was expectedly pricey. They had some very fun family activiites going on at the pool all day long. (Diving for tokens, water aerobics, limbo contest etc..) Also, on Sat. night they were having a family "dive in" movie at the pool. Out by the pool they we serving popcorn and showing a movie after dark, you could lie on lounge chairs or float in the pool while you watched it. There was also a campfire area where they built a fire each evening and you could roast marshmellows and make s'mores. Even thogh this is a very upscale hotel, it was very family/children friendly. My husband and I definelty plan on taking our sons here the next time we have a chance to go. Enjoy your vacation!
