Where do you purchase your DCL transfers when staying at the Hyatt? I booked my cruise through an internet travel agency. Can I purchase my DCL transfers when I check into the Hyatt the night before my cruise? Or do the transfers have to be purchased in advance?

My understanding from TA that they have to be purchased in advance. Call Disney and see if you can add it on now. Have a great cruise :boat:

I stayed at the Hyatt before and did purchase transfers before leaving home. It's the same transfers as if you're flying in the day of, just you're leaving from the Hyatt. Call your TA (or e-mail them) and let them know you're want to add transfers. Also let have them tell DCL that you're staying at the Hyatt the night before so you're on DCL's list from the Hyatt. This way, they know you're there, and will have your room number and can coordinate getting your luggage. I don't see how you would be able to purchase the transfers from the DCL reps at the Hyatt, but a quick call to DCL would let you know if you can.

I have spoken to numerous people from Disney and the Hyatt about transfers. Everyone I spoke to confirmed that you can purchase transfers from the Disney reps at the airport. I also spoke to a Disney manager who confirmed that we could purchase bag only transfers from the Disney reps at the airport (this will be helfpul for us because we are staying at the Hyatt the night before, and taking our own limo to PC, so we will likely purchase the bag only transfers for our big bags that don't fit in the limo. The cost is $25 for up to 6 bags). Also, we just received our documents for our upcoming cruise, and they clearly state that transfers can be purchased from the Disney reps at the airport. By the way, a Disney manager also confirmed that we cannot check our bags at the airport desks at PC unless we have Disney transfers. However, this manager said that we could purchase transfers on the ship, but had to buy transfers for everyone in our group in order to use this service ($25 per person). Bag only transfers are not available for the return trip from PC to the airport.

I'll let you know whether we find out anything new when we return. Also, I would be interested in hearing from anyone who received any recent information that differs from what I have been told.

Good luck and enjoy your trip.

We stayed at the Hyatt the night before our 12/04/04 cruise and used Tiffany. Before we left, I called Disney to ask about the luggage only transfer. The person I spoke with said that it was not available. I told her to check with her manager because I believe it is available. She then realized that she was mistaken. I was told I could make the arrangements at the Hyatt when checking in.

When we checked in, however, I was told that I needed to book it with DCL personnel and DCL personnel were not on duty that night (Friday). They would be in the Hyatt lobby at around 9:30 a.m. the day of the cruise. This was a problem for me since our transportation was picking us up at 9:15 a.m. We took our luggage with us.

We've stayed at the Hyatt 4 times for DCL cruises. :D We always buy the transfers ahead of time.

There's no need to tell DCL that you're staying at the Hyatt. Just let them know when you check-in to the hotel. They'll give you an envelope telling you what time (Magic & Wonder have different times) to have your big bags outside your hotel room (keep your daybags to take with you). The hotel staff comes around and collects all of the luggage. Then you go down to the lobby, check in with DCL staff, and they lead you to the bus. Very quick prodedure (normally about 15 minutes). We always seem to be on the bus by 10 am and at port by 11 am.

It's easy and painless. While the rooms are nothing special, I wouldn't stay anywhere other than the Hyatt the night before the cruise. It makes for a relaxing start to your vacation. :cool1:
