Any suggestions on how/where to get the best rates? My Mom really wants to stay here the night before our cruise. THANKS!

i have searched and searched and I was not able to find any good rates for the Hyatt. Now that the price has gone sky high to stay there, I have decided it is not worth all the extra money. For instance, I got a RCCL cruise in October for $269. I wanted to stay at the Hyatt, but the best price i could find was $185, which is darn close to the cost of the cruise!

I too have searched and searched. The lowest rate I can find is $166.50 which is a AAA rate. I was hoping someone here on the boards could point us in the direction of a cheaper rate!!! I haven't called the hotel directly I wonder if that might help??

Does anyone know of anything?

Thanks! :wave2:

My parents got the $99 rate for senior citizens. My dad is 65 so he was the qualifying senior. Don't know if that helps.

Well, I just called the hotel and $166.50 was as low as they had. We just gotta find something cheaper than that. I often feel like a senior but on paper I'm not!!!

Anyone else know of anything???

Go to hyatt.com. The lowest rate is a AAA $134.10 with breakfast. You must present your AAA card at check-in.

If anyone else has another suggestion, please post as I'm interested in a better rate, too.

Yes, try the website - I believe their prices are about as low as anyone's. I think $129 is about as low as I have every paid (minus tax). For me it is well worth it because it is so convenient.

My mom was able to get the $99 rate for seniors, too. You must be at least 62 to get it.

What dates are you getting the $134.10 AAA rate for Lxnme2? I'm with LostGirls in that our cruise date is still quite a bit a way. We sail on June 5, 2005 so when I enter June 4, 2005 it's coming up $166.50. I realize we still have lots of time to maybe find it for less, it's just I am a planner by nature and I was trying to go ahead and get that squared away. That being said, the planner part of me will just have to wait until a little closer to our trip!!!

Thanks everyone for your replies!!!

I reserved a room for $120.00 (plus tax) on 1/14/05. I used the federal government employee discount, I did not ask if military can use this discount but they are also federal employees.

Wow, you guys are getting some great rates!! ::yes:: I wish I qualified for some type of discount other than AAA!!! I'm not a senior, a state of Florida employee nor a government employee so I guess there's nothing I can do but wait and hope I get something cheaper closer to our trip date.

Luckily, we will be traveling with my parents who are both seniors, so I just made a reservation at Hyatt's web site in each of their names for a rate of $123. The senior rate is "only one room per senior citizen", but since there are two of them, I think we'll be O.K. :D
Oh- and the cancellation policy is "cancel by4pm hotel time 1 day prior to travel" and I just had to guarantee it with a credit card.

I'm extremely jealous of you guys!!! My fingers are crossed that something like that will come my way in time for our trip.

Congratulations to those that have been successful thus far!!!

Is the Hyatt still offered on Priceline?? I thought I read here on the Boards that it's been a while since anyone had gotten the Hyatt. I wasn't willing to take the chance if the Hyatt isn't even an option. Does anyone know if the Hyatt is still available on Priceline and/or Hotwire? Thanks for any info.

I just booked the Hyatt for Jan 22 for 2 rooms and we got the senior rate for both of them - a total of $123. each room.

KAMLEN,
With Priceline, do you get to pick the hotel before you bid, or is it just luck of the draw? (I've never tried it).

You get to choose the area and rating of the hotel (i.e., 2 star, 3 star) but not the specific hotel. It's a great way to go if you don't have your heart set on a specific hotel.

We stayed at the Hyatt the night before our cruise last February and loved it! It was so convenient! Unfortunately, for our cruise this February, we ran into the same problem that you all are having. The cheapest rate I can find is $164 with the AAA discount. Last year, I booked through Travelocity and got a rate of $112. Travelocity isn't offering that great rate (yet!).

I ended up taking a chance on Hotwire. I booked a 3 1/2 star room that didn't have a shuttle symbol. I got the Crowne Plaza for $72 (including taxes). I was a little disappointed in not getting the Hyatt, but for the money we are saving, I can live with taking a shuttle to the hotel.

I hope the rates drop for all you Hyatt fans! Good luck!
