The Dh took it upon himself to go to the store :earseek: The thought was nice but :earseek: He literally spent $200 and did not come home with alot. Spare ribs, some spices, a 4 roll of the most expensive paper towels, about 10 envelopes of grape Kool-Aid, our kids have never drank this stuff, a tarp :confused3 a watermelon that is too big to fit in the fridge, safety pins, dog food that the dog doesn't like, rope, safety pins, and some air freshner we don't like, ok I don't like. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My husband went with me ONCE... and when we came out to the car someone had vandalzied it.. it was his new little lexus convertable, his baby and it was all scratched up both sides :sad2:

That was the one and only time.

Oh, and once I send him for avocados so I could make guacamole' and he came home with a bag af artichokes :rotfl2:

I do ALL the grocery shopping in my house. Of course, the vast majority of it is done at Costco. I think my wife was in a grocery store several months ago.

My husband does most of the grocery shopping. I just hand him a list. He is a sweetie.

But there is a difference between going all the time with a list, a meal plan and just going every once in awhile and bringing home a tarp and 2 things of safety pins :confused3

I can so relate. Before we got married DH professed he was a great food shopper. Boy, did he misrepresent himself  ;) :rotfl: . He goes occasionally now but has to check purchases with me before hand so we're not overloaded with stuff. If he had his way he'd come home with a side of beef (yuck), a head of iceburg lettuce (yuck) and a case of klondike bars (double yuck).

You married him.... :teeth:

I'm sure he's a very nice man.

I think that if you don't do the cooking, you shouldn't do the shopping.

Once in awhile I'll send my DH because I'm just too pressed for time to go. He will get everything on my list but not a thing more. I often "shop the store" to see what I want for dinner. For some reason, he just can't look and things and see if he wants to buy them or not for the next week's dinner.

We are always starving if my DH does the shopping.

He is  We will be celebrating our 25th soon. Maybe we should celebrate early since he didn't buy anything for supper :smooth:

Hmmm, a tarp, paper towels, rope and air freshener. I wouldn't complain too loudly about this.

:p

DH and I do our grocery shopping together every week.

:rotfl2:

DH and I got a big laugh out of this, because that's exactly the kind of thing he would come home with if I let him into a grocery store. On the few rare occasions I send him, I will give him explicit instructions, down to a description of the packaging.

i have to admit it
thisis the one thing DH does
i clip the coupons and make the list he goes and buys all the stuff andkeeps on track
sometimes he forgets stuff but he is really good at it

I took over the lion's share of the cooking and all of the shopping quite a few years ago. I found that when I did the shopping, there was always something in the house that I wanted to eat ;) I would solicit requests and opinions from DW and DDs, then I would get all of that plus the stuff I wanted. I have only made the tarp/rope/safety pins type purchase a couple of times in about 15 years. BTW, those little packs of Kool-Aid are 5/$1.00 :)
