Bonjour all,

Great site and appreciate the wealth of information. Fabulous.

We're going to DLP in early March with our 4 children (9yrs to 3). I want to plan something special for my husband as our trip is to celebrate his 40th.

We're staying at the Explorer and have hired a car as well (if that makes any difference). I would love to hear some suggestions from you so as to arrange something special for him. A birthday party with some characters would go down well I'd say.

Thanks,

Marblerun

Hi Marblerun and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

Sounds like a character meal at either Cafe Mickey or The Lucky Nugget Saloon, along with a birthday cake might just be what DH and your children would enjoy :)

Thanks Cyrano.

I will check out Cafe Mickey and the Lucky Nugget. I presume that this should be booked well in advance. How does one make a reservation? Are all times the same for entertainment value?

Hi Marblerun, welcome to the DIS! :welcome:

It's not always necessary to book meals in advance but as it's for such a special occasion I would suggest that you do. The telephone number is 00 33 1 60 30 40 50 and you can book meals up to 60 days in advance.

Cafe Mickey will probably be quieter at lunch time than in the evening but you'll still have good fun with the characters at night. :thumbsup2

Inventions is another character buffet that is very special. it's in the disneyland hotel and you can eat and look out over the park. the characters spend lots of time with you and the food is absolutely wonderful. it's not a huge restaurant so birthdays seem nice and intimate. it's a bit more expensive but if you like good food it's worth it for a special occasion. i think the characters are a great feature in a meal as we can chat and linger over our food without worrying about our children getting bored.
