What should I do, other than really dope him up on dramimine and have him wear the bracelets, my husband is concerned about the high seas for 8/19 sailing on the wonder, he thinks if I can get a balcony this late, it would help him (he has gotten sea sick before on the Norway), does anyone think the balcony would help??

The balcony may help. It was good to know it was there if needed for my DW. SHe used the Bonine and Sea-Bands and was fine. If he starts with the meds prior to your leaving, like the day before, and continues throughout he should be fine. Good luck.

Actually, if you can afford it, yes. I spent a few summers working on a boat and fresh air and the horizon help. Good Luck.

Have him try giner crystals. They are found at some over the counter drug stores and health food stores. We had someone with us last cruise that always gets sea sick and did not. Good luck

thanks for all the suggestions, costco quaoted me an additional $1,100.00 to upgrade! Guess I will try the medicaitons.

Another line of defense could be Ginger Snaps, Ginger Ale or Ginger caplets/crystals............ginger is a time tested remedy for motion sickness. And they don't leave you feeling drugged.

Clarabelle IF your dh finds he just can't make it, PM me. I have holidays as well as a valid passport and can be down there in 12 hours.
Wouldn't want your hubby to have to go through a tumultuous deal like that.
Hmmm scrap that idea. My wife just said something about when pigs fly or something to that affect. :(

Cheers,
Grumbo

actually I was thinking of sending him and the kids and staying home!!!! If the seas are rough, this could get ugly!!! Just remembered how my DD got crossing on a Ferry from St. Maarten to Saba, it was ugly!!!

We had fairly high seas on our 5-1 Eastern and while it was bad it wasn't horribly awful. We've done the Norway and DCL and there is no comparison between the 2 in high seas! We did the same exact Itinerary on the Norway as we did on DCL and I can say we were MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH sicker on Norway than on DCL! We did have a balcony but we found it was nice to just go sit up on deck in the sun and "wind". On nights we felt more ill we just made sure we didn't go to the show too early as watching the curtains move back and forth made it worse. If he gets feeling crummy even on medication have him eat a Green Granny Smith apple from the breakfast buffet. We took several back to our room and put them in our fridge and they helped take the edge off. If he does get really bad the infirmary can give him a shot that will help with being really sick or queasy (but it is kind of costly).

Other than that I wish you luck and hope for smooth seas! You may luck out and have calmer water than predicted or expected!

Heidi

We had 26 ft. seas on our 11/29/03 eastern sailing........we caught the tail end of that late season hurricane........myself and DDs were fine.Dw was a little "woozie"........it wasn't that bad......the wind was worse.

We just came off the Wonder yesterday and we had 3 beautiful days on the cruise. All ships were diverted to Nassau. Tell your husband not to worry, I usually am the one to feel sick on a cruise and I took bonine each morning with breakfast and never felt a thing and Hurrican Charley was out there. I have been on 5 cruises and none of them were bad. The wrist bands do work, though, I needed to use them once when were following hurricane Juan last fall up the northeast coast to Nova Scotia and that was the worst but never got sick.
