Can't believe it but we made the ressies and are going without the kids for 7 nights. We haven't taken a vacation together just the two of us (except for the occasional weekend) since our three year anniversary. This will be to celebrate our 12 year anniversary. Truly love any stories or ideas or "wish I would haves" that anyone has...Thanks!!

DH and I did one night last March at CSR. We had a great time. Mostly hung out by the pool. We went to Ohana for dinner. We had a great view of the castle changing colors and the fireworks.

I don't know if this is really considered "romantic" but DH and I are going to WDW for 4 days later this month, without DD, and I splurged on tickets to Cirque du Soleil for a special night out. I've never seen it (except for pieces on TV) but I've heard many, many rave reviews. It's expensive, but everyone says it's well worth it. I figure we'll have dinner somewhere at DTD before the show.

Good for you!

My husband and I just returned from a Labor Day Weekend birthday trip together, sans children. We have been married for 14 years and our oldest is 10, and we had only spent one night prior to this away from our children. It was HEAVEN! We had so much fun. And although I missed the children and thought about them alot, I relished in the time my husband and I were able to splurge on ourselves.

So what was the most romantic thing we did together? I'd have to say that it was when we watched the Kiss Goodnight at the Magic Kingdom after FITS. We sat in one of the benches right in front of the castle and watched it turn beautiful colors. Then we slowly walked down Main Street, soaking in the last few moments.

Another romantic moment happened right before Illuminations, the night we arrived. I'd grabbed my Happy Birthday button at Guest Relations and was wearing it while we waited to get onto El Rio del Tiempo. The CM loading the attraction noticed it and gave us a boat all to ourselves! That was very romantic. I'll bet if you also went right before Illuminations (when it is very slow), you could ask for a boat to yourselves, explaining your wonderful situation. It couldn't hurt to ask!

Have a wonderful vacation together.

The one romantic thing that my wife an I always do is walk along the beach at the Poly at night and stop and recite our vows to each other. It is one of those magical times that's the highlight of each trip.

We haven't done this yet, but you can get a horse-drawn carriage ride at PO and FW. It sounds really cool, and I think you can bring your own beverages/treats with.

Sound totally romantic to me.

Also, go dancing at Pleasure Island--unless that's not your thing.

Dinner at San Angel Inn, or Chefs de France. The ambiance is wonderful.

Have fun

I vote for the walk from the Poly beach to the G.Floridian during the fireworks are later. It's pretty vacant and VERY romantic. Walk through the grounds of the chapel and .....
well, you guys can take it from there.

;)

I find that walking through the Epcot World Showcase is romantic. It's so different than the rest of WDW. There's also a lot of great restaurants there and the nearby Boardwalk is fun.

Go to California Grill for supper and watch the fireworks.

My DH and I have done WDW twice without "the girl", and we loved it! Now she's old enough to be offended, so she's coming with us!

We didn't really do anything spectacularly romantic, per se. We just enjoyed each other's company, went on all of the rides, ate when we were hungry, and just generally enjoyed each other. Both trips were wonderful, but both trips were also spent talking about DD, how much we love her, how much we miss her, how cute she is, blah blah blah! We even had to buy an extra suitcase on the first trip to fit all of the souveniers we had bought for her!

I think that you'll find romance anywhere when you two just have some couple time.

Enjoy your wonderful vacation!

Erin :D

DH and I are doing the same thing in December and I can't wait! Last year we were fortunate to leave the kids with Grandad for one night and we strolled around World Showcase in Epcot. Like swilphil said, it IS romantic. Just holding hands while you browse the shops, then snuggling as you watch Illuminations......wow...it's such fun.

If there is an E-ride night during your stay, USE IT! There is SO much romance walking around the Magic Kingdom at night when there's hardly anyone else there. DH & I sat on Main Street and were literally the only people we could see for about 10 minutes during our 15th Anniversary trip. It felt like the castle was changing colors just for us.

Sigh...

Have a wonderful trip!

On our honeymoon we went to Victoria & Albert’s. Very romantic music (Harpist). Service is great and the food was fantastic. The menus make a great souvenir because they are personalized. You are even given a rose at the end of the meal.

It’s a very expensive diner but worth it for a one time occasion. Our bill for two was around $300.

Since I've only gone to DW with 6+ people and to DL once without all the kids, inlaws, etc my idea of romance would be no plans. Just go where we want how we want when we want. Sure we would miss some stuff but if the point of the trip is to be together not just see Disney I think that just going with the feel of the moment would be heaven.

We are in the process of planning a 4N trip alone NEXT Oct. But of course I am dreaming about it now. Here is my list of things I want to do:

California Grill
Artist Point
Pleasure Island
Jelly Rolls
Carriage Ride at PO
BackStage Magic Tour
World Showcase -- enjoy the countries

I can't wait!!

Dh and I are going in about 6 weeks for 5 nights. Just had the kids there for 8 nights. WE plan on slowly walking around the wine and food festival and going into every country and every shop that the kids never have the patience for. I've never seen the China or Canada films. We had a great family trip but the kids, esp. the two youngest whined a LOT:rolleyes: ! I'm looking forward to wine with no whine! We will listen to British INvasion, Off-Kilter and hopefully sit on the patio at the Rose and Crown during Illuminations. We had a perfect seat in August and the kids just wanted to get out of there and onto the next attraction. I'll have hours by myself while DH is in a conference and I'm looking forward to that too, running from ride to ride unencumbered by anyone -- woo hoo!
