What up, my brethren?

I leave for the World in nine, count 'em, nine days! Banana dance? Yes, I think this counts as a banana dance moment.

I'm resol37 but I'm not shy, you can call me Ashley. 'Cause it's my name, yo. I'm 27, currently living with my parents in Monroe, NC and working in customer service. And the thing about working in customer service is that it's always time for a vacation.

This one is luckily enough to Walt Disney World (shocker, right?). I'll be driving (read: being bored for nine hours in the backseat) with my parents and my great aunt will be joining us by plane. Five nights at Shades of Green and four days in the parks.

So, apparently, moving every two and a half years as a kid has paid off in my adulthood in the form of special military offers for Walt Disney World tickets.

My dad is retired Air Force since 1995 and started taking my brother and I (and mom!) to Disney in 1996. We've (almost) always stayed at Shades of Green and this trip is no different. (Back in 2007 we went with cousins, aunts, uncles, babies and whatnot for a total of 12 people and decided to stay in a rental off property. Two years ago I went with my ex-boyfriend and we stayed at Pop Century.)

Originally this trip was going to be four nights/three days but with the new military special just announced (four days with either park hopper or water parks, etc. option good until October of next year) we decided to get down there a day early.

So! Instead of driving down Sunday the 7th of Novembre (that's Spanish), we will be driving down Saturday the 6th. Check in to Shades of Green (one room for my parents and moi [that's French...I think. I only do German and Spanish. Fretalian is beyond me.]) and play around at the hotel, in the pool and probably Downtown Disney that night. Sunday is DHS (which we were originally going to skip), Monday is Epcot, Tuesday is DAK and Wednesday is MK. Don't know about anybody else but I'll try to squeeze some hopping in there just because I can. And then back home on Thursday.

My great aunt Reeda (mom and dad shall be henceforth known as...Mom and Dad. See what I did there? I ~*~capitalized~*~. And those are known as ~*~word decorations~*~. Fancy words get those.) is not joining us until Sunday as that was the original plan and she already has a plane ticket down from Maryland. Once she arrives we will off-shoot into our own room like big girls do!

So. I am not a Mama, Peep, Snob, or Wife of anybody named Del, but Imma try to give you guys a nice enjoyable PTR and TR.

:thumbsup2

Haven't started packing yet. But I did get myself two cute t-shirts at the Disney Store today. Black and (dark gray) striped with Mickey sketches and pink with hearts and Minnie and Mickey. Two for $24! Score!

Eight days and counting. Sounds so far away. Probably because I have to work five of those days.

Only six days left and I'm having a nice lazy Sunday at work.

Still haven't started packing (what, what? I know...I'm excited to go but also busy), but tonight I will pull aside all of the clothes I'm taking so I can make sure they're clean and all. Luckily I'm obsessed with shower gels and lotions and have plenty of spares to pack in my toiletries bag.

Must. Get. Through. Rest. Of. Work. Week.

Thursday I will work 10 am to 7 pm instead of my usual 11 am to 8 pm as I have an intra-office interview at 10. So I'll be home by 8 pm (10 hours a week, I spend commuting...it's craziness I tell you!). Will most likely be all packed up by then with the exceptions of my cell phone, laptop and iPod (plus chargers). But, I shall finish anything last minute and then head to my boyfriend's apartment to spend the night.

Friday we'll do whatever we feel like doing. Hoping I can actually make it an easy day and talk him into helping me put all of my music on said iPod (I'm about 5-10 years behind tech-wise. Luckily the boyfriend works for Apple so I get free help! :)).

At some point, I'll need to go to my meeting. I'm on Weight Watchers and have lost 13.8 pounds over the course of 16 weeks so far. I'm hoping to all that is holy that I lose at least 1.2 pounds this week. If for no other reason than I'm ever so slightly obsessive compulsive and a 15 pound weight loss is such a nice, pretty round number right before vacation. I don't plan on dieting while I'm in Disney (though I'm not going to go completely nuts because I'll end up making myself sick and nobody wants that). I mean, diet during Food and Wine Festival? Don't make me snort 'n' chuckle.

I usually weigh in on Saturday mornings, but since we have a nine hour drive that day, I may go to a different meeting on Friday morning. We shall see.

I'm bouncy excited to take my parents on Toy Story Mania for the first time. And have them and my Aunt Reeda see Spaceship Earth for the first time since it's been updated. And I've never seen Captain EO before!

*happydance*

:dance3:

Yes, I'd said all that moving at least got you somewhere! :rotfl: Thank you for your dad's service! I'm an army brat, but my dad did the short service. He was a paratrooper back before standard issue berets for all the army... let's just say that was NOT a fun period of time when the army did that.

Anyway, I'll join in here and can't wait to hear your plans and actual TR. :thumbsup2

Hi francis! Good to have you! Between both of my grandfathers (army), dad (air force), uncle (navy), other uncle and cousin (coast guard) my family pretty much has the armed forces down. Except the marines...the marines never did get ahold of us.

Thanks for reading!

Updating instead of packing. But the majority of my clothes are now clean so packing should go quickly.

Only two days of work left. Luckily, I've been scheduled off the phones for the latter half of the next two days. Our office has some additional duties other than answering phones that are termed fulfillment so I'll be doing that after lunch tomorrow and Thursday. Just means I'll be mailing out copies of water bills and responding to questions submitted on our website but...whatever gets me off the phone!

My mom and I have been tweaking our plans a little bit each day now that we have four day hoppers. None of us have ever been at the World while the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights has been going on, so we're doing a little hopping to fit that in.

The plans!

Saturday: Drive. And drive some more. Hit up Downtown Disney in the evening to get my Earl of Sandwich and Basin fix.

Sunday: DHS day. Pick my great aunt Reeda up at MCO around 5:10 pm when her plane arrives. Hop to MK for the Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes!

Monday: Epcot. We will break in the afternoon and watch Illuminations that night.

Tuesday: Mom, aunt Reeda and myself will go to DAK. Dad will watch the practice rounds of the golf tournament.

~*sidebar*~

Yeah, I didn't mention that yet did I? My dad's a golf fanatic and a charity golf tournament is held at either the Magnolia or the Palm (or both...I don't pay attention) golf course each year in November. The courses are on either side of Shades of Green so he likes to go for the few days before the tournament begins to watch the practice rounds. So he'll only be joining us in the parks on Sunday and Monday. Allegedly. One year he ended up changing his mind and joining us in the parks so...we'll see. ;)

~*end sidebar*~

Tuesday continued: My aunt wanted to visit the daughter of an old friend of hers who lives in the area so she and my mom may do that Tuesday evening. We've yet to hear back from said daughter of friend so who knows if that will happen. I'll most likely end up vising whichever darn park I feel like that evening. :goodvibes

Wednesday: Magic Kingdom day with a return to DHS in the evening for Osborne Family Lights.

Thursday: driving back home. this sentence is all lower cased to convey sadness. boo.

Alrighty. One more post of pictures (Pictures, I say!) and then packing while chatting with the boyfriend followed by...bed.

Pichas!

Who's going? Well, there's me. Duh.

I am kissing a frog at the Manteo Aquarium in Manteo, NC. To find my prince, of course. This was last June so the timing was...uncanny.

My parents.

This nice old-timey picture is actually a few years old taken at my second cousin's wedding, but they look pretty much the same.

My great aunt Reeda. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of her on my laptop nor were there any to be found on facebook. I'm sure we'll get some on the trip though.

Who's not going? My brother and sister-in-law.

Does this pic really need commentary? I think not. They're not going because, well, they have their own lives and jobs. Up in Maryland. We'll get them there eventually.

My boyfriend.

He's the one on the left. ;) Alex and I have been dating since August so it's still early, but the force is strong with this one and I have a good feeling about this. We're hoping to go together sometime next year.

Aren't we beautiful?

It is very important to make sure of his love for disney before you decide any life-altering decisions... just saying! :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear about the trip!!! YAY!

Oh, we've talked about it! Alex has been to the World twice and he has fond memories. Obviously he's not as obsessed as myself, but he totally gets why I am. He even said that he'd never surprise me with a trip because he wouldn't want to take away my opportunity to plan.

We'd love to go sometime next spring, but I doubt we'll be able to afford it by then.
